Sony Xperia E4g packs 4G LTE and epic battery life on a budget

With a battery lasting two days -- and up to a week should you really try -- then if you're not living on the E4g you're taking up too much room.

Sony Xperia E4g Smartphone Review

Black or White. Sony launches its new Xperia E4g in black or white on the market. The 4.7-inch smartphone features an IPS screen, LTE Cat.4, NFC, a Mediatek quad-core SoC and dual-band Wi-Fi. The smartphone is priced at approximately 130 Euros (~$144)...

Stiff casing with good feel, Decent connectivity, Swift SoC, Bright IPS screen, Good color reproduction, Long battery life

Non-removable battery, Cameras' low-light performance, Poor speaker, Low screen resolution

Buyers of the 4.7-inch Sony Xperia E4g will get a solid, reliable, and easy to use budget smartphone for approximately 130 Euros (~$144). A stable, non-slip case and a bright IPS screen with decent color reproduction are on the positive side. However,...

Sony Xperia E4g packs 4G LTE and epic battery life on a budget

It seems like only a couple of weeks ago that Sony revealed the Xperia E4, a low-end 3G smartphone -- mainly because it was only a couple of weeks ago. Our main complaint was that the E4 didn't have 4G, and now that complaint has been answered with the...

Sony Xperia E4g Review

We are putting Sony's affordable LTE samurai – the Xperia E4g – through its paces, hoping to determine whether a qHD display and 5 MP camera still count for something in this day and age...

Bright, color-accurate display ; Excellent battery life ; Good pictures outdoors and 1080p video recording ; Sturdy, easy to handle phone ; Rich set of connectivity options, including 4G LTE and Miracast

Subpar screen resolution ; Weak low-light photography ; Long shot-to-shot times ; Wobbly power key

At about $200, the Sony Xperia E4g proves to be a very good value for the money. We started a bit suspicious about a phone with a qHD display resolution, but the screen's other qualities proved pretty decent, the phone is very easy to grab and handle,...

Sony Xperia E4g review

The Sony Xperia E4g is a solid and practical phone that offers all the smartphone essentials at a fair price. Particular strengths include an excellent camera and robust battery life. It's a strong all-round performer with no weak points.

The increase is price isn't something we welcome, and ideally we'd like to see this phone selling for under £100. Still, even at around £150 it offers excellent value and we have no hesitation in awarding it a solid 4 stars. Asked by Mary Shaw from...
