Sony Xperia Z3v

T-Mobile users have enjoyed the option of buying Sony's best Android phone, the Xperia Z3, for a while. Now, Verizon users can have a crack at a similar, but not identical model with the appropriately initialed Xperia Z3v. Internally, the same as the...

Build quality ; Large and bright screen ; Sony PS4 Remote Player support

Dull design ; Slightly slippery

Android favoring Verizon users looking for a full-function smartphone will be well-served and entertained by the Xperia Z3v despite its underwhelming outward appearance and the additional thump to the wallet.

Sony Xperia Z3v: The Waterproof Smartphone That Does It All [REVIEW]

The Sony Xperia Z3v is a stunning glass sandwich, packed with high-end features that are sure to please... so long as you can ignore the Verizon bloatware.

Great waterproofing ; Long battery life ; PlayStation 4 Remote Play

Tons of Verizon carrier bloatware ; Original metal design swapped for plastic ; Too many gimmicky camera modes

The Sony Xperia Z3v is a stunning glass sandwich, packed with high-end features that are sure to please — so long as you’re okay with ignoring all the Verizon carrier bloatware.

Sony Xperia Z3v review

Shopping for phones can sometimes be a maddening process: what makes one variation different than another? Let's say you've been craving Sony's latest Xperia Z3 , a really good and stylish phone. It's available in the U.S. via T-Mobile. But if you're a...

The Sony Xperia Z3v is a top-notch Android phone that's waterproof for up to 30 minutes, can stream games from a nearby PlayStation 4 via Remote Play, and has expandable storage.

The design is a throwback to earlier Xperia models, and not as slick as the standard Xperia Z3.

Sony's variant on the Xperia Z3 is nearly the same excellent overall phone on Verizon, albeit with a slightly dated external design.

Sony Xperia Z3v ( white)

The main differences are battery life and, well, design. There's no way about it: Verizon's Z3v is not as attractive a phone as the standard Z3. In fact, it looks more like the earlier Xperia Z2 .

Sony Xperia Z3v (Verizon Wireless)

The Xperia Z3v marks Sony's triumphant return to Verizon, offering high-end specs and features without some of the compromises of its smartphone peers.

Attractive, modern design. Waterproof. Refined software with useful tweaks. Qi wireless charging.

On the thick and heavy side. Tons of bloatware.

It's got powerful internals, a 20-megapixel camera, and a version of Android that isn't annoying to look at—hopefully a stint at Verizon will help it reach more users.

Bright, vibrant display with customizable settings ; Water and dust proof—mostly life proof ; Front-facing stereo speakers for groovin

Camera can be a bit inconsistent depending on lighting situation

The Xperia Z3v's powerful hardware and neat bundled features are also a perfect example of what Sony is capable of when it takes its time with a product.

Sony Xperia Z3v review

Sony has a rough time selling phones in the US. While it has managed to become one of the few Android makers to turn a profit on the backs of its global sales, Sony's presence in the US has been...

Sony XPERIA Z3/Z3v Review

Marketed with “Demand Great” by Sony, the XPERIA Z3 is a high-end phone that has a lot of attributes that are attractive: a thin metal and glass design, an IP65/68 ruggedness rating (water and dust...

The Sony XPERIA Z3 is an excellent evolution of the XPERIA line, and it is fair to say that Sony has improved virtually every aspects of the remarkable XPERIA Z2 handset. If the XPERIA Z3 shipped closer to its launch date, its success would have been...

Sony Xperia Z3v Review

Over the past week we've had a look at the third in a line of Sony's "Z" devices in so many years, this one called the "Z3" when it's not carried by Verizon. This version of the Xperia Z3 goes by the name "Z3v", appropriately, as it runs on Verizon's...

As any good manufacturer does, Sony once again delivers their finest work of smartphone art in the Xperia Z3v. Each successor to the Z becomes better – and bigger. Now we’ve got to see about the Z3 Compact to get the slightly more pocketable...
