Verizon G'zOne Boulder

Verizon's shockproof, waterproof, freeze-proof phone is perfect for the accident-prone.

Indestructible. EV-DO Rev A high-speed data. Uses Verizon's new push-to-talk system.

Muddy voice quality. Short battery life.

Verizon G'zOne Boulder review

Skinny, touch-screen phones may be the flavor du jour of the cell phone world, but there are still those of us who want a handset that can take a beating. Ruggedized phones are nothing new, of course, but few are attractive or designed with the...

The G'zOne Boulder is military-certified to withstand the elements, plus it has EV-DO Rev. A, a 1.3-megapixel camera, Push-to-Talk, an electronic compass, and support for V Cast Video, VZ Navigator, and V Cast Music with Rhapsody.

Call quality was mediocre at best, with a lot of static and echo. The G'zOne Boulder may be bulky for some people, and the music player interface is a tad clunky.

The G'zOne Boulder is a beefy, rough-and-tumble cell phone with a rich suite of multimedia features beneath its tough exterior, but we were ultimately disappointed with the call quality.
