Asus VG236 review

Asus release a Full-HD, 3D capable LCD monitor with 23-inches of viewing space

Lovely panel ; 3D Vision bundle ; 3D gaming's working

Slightly chunky chassis

The 3D Vision bundle and the 120Hz refresh rate make this 23-incher worthwhile

Asus VG236H review

Asus's VG236H is a 3D monitor, which is compatible with, and comes bundled alongside Nvidia's well-established 3D Vision technology. The 3D Vision component consists of a pair of shutter-based glasses, plus a USB control unit that synchronises the...

We enjoyed 3D gaming on this monitor, but it’s very expensive and not compatible with the key standard for 3D imaging – HDMI 1.4a.

Asus VG236H review

To those who've followed a couple of decades or more of consumer technology, the enthusiasm of today's entertainment world for all things 3D will come as nothing new.

Although the Asus is expensive for a 23in LCD monitor with a TN panel, the cost may be more than worth it should you have the necessary 3D kit as well. The reflective glass screen is annoying, but otherwise this is a very decent flat-panel and a...

Asus VG236H

Asus VG236H is one of Asus' new 120 Hz monitors designed for gaming. It's a 23-inch monitor with a 1920x1080 resolution and 3D support (requires Nvidia 3D Vision). Asus has also incorporated some nice ergonomic features in VG236H.

Color accuracy; Response time; Standard picture settings; 120 Hz and low input lag; Height adjustment stand

Viewing angles; Glossy panel; Minor backlight bleeding

VG236H is a very successful 120 Hz monitor from Asus. The glossy, black frame is quite ordinary but the height adjustment feature is a nice addition. The glossy panel can be problematic at times, however.

Asus VG236H review

The Asus VG236H is a 23in PC monitor capable of delivering 3D images for films and Windows games, using nVidia's 3D Vision technology.

Although the Asus is expensive for a 23in LCD monitor with a TN panel, the cost may be more than worth it should you have the necessary 3D kit as well. The reflective glass screen is annoying, but otherwise this is a very decent flat-panel and a...

Asus VG236H review

The Asus VG236H is a 23-inch monitor with a 120Hz refresh rate and is compatible with the Nvidia 3D Vision Kit . The monitor includes a host of ergonomic adjustment options as well as HDMI and DVI connections. At $340 (without the 3D Vision kit; $500...

The Asus VG236H is aesthetically pleasing and has a useful number of ergonomic touches and connection options.

A green tint problem plagues the Asus VG236H, causing its overall color quality to suffer. Also, its high black level loses dark detail in movies.

The Asus VG236H is a decent performing monitor that includes enough extras to justify its price.

ASUS VG236H 23-inch 3D Display Review: 120Hz is the Future

120Hz panels are definitely still market newcomers - in fact, look no further than Newegg, where there still isn't a 120Hz category, much less a refresh rate field for drilling down products. The necessity for 120Hz panels arose entirely out of the...

Asus VG236H 120Hz 3D Display Review

Before you scream, “Who in their right mind would pay $500 for a 23-inch twisted-nematic panel?!” know that this is a 120Hz monitor, and that Asus is putting Nvidia's 3D Vision kit—a $200 product—inside the box. If you're excited about 3D gaming and...

Compatible with Nvidia's active shutter glasses and associated games

Highly reflective screen; no DisplayPort; relatively wide bezel; no portrait mode

Most people contemplating a VG236H purchase will have gaming in mind, and from that perspective, it’s a great choice—especially with games that take advantage of Nvidia’s 3D Vision. (Asus plans to offer a second SKU sans Nvidia’s glasses, but the...

ASUS VG236H 3D Monitor and NVIDIA 3D Surround Review

NVIDIA 3D Vision has been out for a while now, unlike Surround technology. How about trying them out together with three affordable ASUS monitors?

My main thought is that 3D Surround isn't quite a mature technology yet. First and foremost, there were a few hiccups here and there with 3D Vision. Second, many games tested could not span on all three displays. Most of them however were games...
