Dell U2311H

Dell Dell U2311H and Dell U2211H are Dell's two new low priced IPS monitors. We have received U2311 with a 23-inch IPS panel and a 1920x1080 resolution, as well as Dell's well-known matte black design and great ergonomic features.

Color reproduction; Shadow detailing; Price; Ergonomics

Minor bleeding; Contrast changes from angles; No HDMI; Black not as deep as on S-PVA panels

Dell U2311H is a cheap alternative to the TN panels that are (unfortunately) dominating the monitor market today. And with the IPS panel in U2311H you get much better picture quality than any TN panel provides.

In fact, the only thing that might temper your enthusiasm for the U2311H is its price: it's significantly more expensive than the A-listed ViewSonic VP2365wb. The Dell gives a slightly more even performance, but with ViewSonic's zero-pixel defect...

IPS, 1080p panel for fantastic price ; Excellent stand ; Four USB ports

No HDMI ; Display too sharp ; Failed one more inversion test than the average

Considering its price, no one has an excuse any more to buy a second-rate TN panel. While it hasn't been given the same attention to detail in colour accuracy as the 2209WA or the U2711, the U2311H makes for a compelling buy if you want affordable 1080p.

The Dell U2311H is yet another entry into Dell's UltraSharp range, its trademark look and feel of matte black and silver in place. What it is missing from other models though is the silver trim around the edge - the panel is now completely black.

Great monitor!

Very pleased with this monitor! Can't say that I'd recommend it for movies or games, as the motion is a bit jerky. But for what I bought it for (mainly web and a lot of Word document editing)I couldn't be happier. Really nice for the money.

Good value and Really good graphics

I purchased this monitor after much research. I am glad I spent the extra money, it makes a difference on games and the web in general. I liked the extra port and tilt and usb options as well.
