Sceptre X270W-1080P Review: A Value 27" That Delivers

If you've been in the market for a large or even midsize LCD display lately, chances are good you've seen relatively low-cost offerings from a relative newcomer to our display review section - Sceptre. We saw Sceptre's 27” LCD at a local wholesale club...

Sceptre X270W-1080p 27-inch Display Review

Incredibly inexpensive; surprisingly good performance; a great gaming monitor

Doesn't escape its TN nature; inappropriate for critical apps

This isn’t a monitor you’d want to use for critical applications. In addition to the color fidelity issues, the monitor’s video inputs are limited to DVI, HDMI, and VGA (there’s no DisplayPort or component inputs). The controls are for the birds, too: ...

Sceptre x270W 27-Inch Monitor

When I first started working at an electronics store, we only had two choices when it came to monitor sizes. Most of them were 17-inches, though we did have a pair of the larger 19-inch screens that I would drool over. Now you can walk into a store and...

Great buy but some issues

Some people say if one pixel is dead they will return the product. It does not bother me, and i never notice it unless i look hard to find it again. Great purchase, dont regret it. Games look really nice!!!!!

Much bigger in person than i had expected. Great picture for an amazing price. Monitor is sleek and modern

Speakers are either very difficult to adjust the volume or they simply dont get loud(No volume adjust buttons). One dead pixel. Screen Doesnt tilt, raise or lower

Great Buy for 27"

Now if only I could talk my wife into me buying a second nvidia card and 2 more of the puppies. And also convince Blizzard to actually make intelligent use of multiple monitors and I'd be all set. (for now ;-) )

Simply awesome monitors, I have 2 of these hooked to an nvidia GFX card and they are just outstanding in performance ; Crystal clear picture and no ghosting while gaming

I have my monitors sitting slightly higher than optimum viewing angle so the picture does look slightly darker, this is due to my desk/chair and not a fault of the monitors, I will be rectifying this shortly, keep in mind your eyes should be level with...

WIN WIN

3rd Sceptre monitor I bought, and the first one is still working perfectly (4+ years old). I have nothing but good things to say about the SCEPTRE name in general. Just good monitors for good prices.

Bright, solid, always works

Dead Pixels

Would be 5 stars without the dead pixels. Will update review after new one arrives.

27" is a nice upgrade from 23". Good color and brightness

Had a dead pixel near the center of screen. Thought I could live with it, but you end up staring at just that pixel. Decided to RMA with replace. Hopefully no dead pixels

A Rare Problem

I don't know whether this is a quality control issue or just something I'll have to deal with. It's two small pixels in the top right that are stuck red. Overall still happy with the purchase though and it seems to be an isolated issue.

Great Price for a 27" Monitor ; Very Bright ; Auto-Switch works well ; Sound is Decent for a Monitor

No easy way to change the volume on the monitor ; Four Days into Ownership I noticed a pair of dead pixels. It's in the top right where my image is normally a bit dark so I may not have noticed it but now I can't look away from it
