iRiver Spinn 4GB

Can the iRiver Spinn prove that Apple isn't the only innovator on the block?

Admittedly, while the wheel proves a responsive and intuitive control the touchscreen is less so; the panel could do with being just a bit more sensitive, and iRiver could still be a little more imaginative with ways of using touch to flick through...

iriver Spinn review

There's plenty of flash in this MP3 player, but we'd happily settle for better sound and something that costs less cash

Big, bright screen ; slim good looks ; decent spec and half-decent headphones

Seems pricey, especially as the sound is no great shakes

If you want your MP3 player as an object, this is among the nicest around. If you want to listen to music on it, you can do better

But the iRiver Spinn also has quite a bit of substance lurking beneath all that style - if you can get past the sometimes less than intuitive controls and the high price.

The iRiver Spinn is an incredibly attractive device whose saucy looks, amazing display, and high-quality audio and video playback are sure to win many admirers. A few usability and navigation issues knock it down a notch, but some of those may...

iRiver Spinn review

With the iPod Touch showing no sign of losing its spot at the top of PMP Hill, the Seoul men (and women) of iriver have tried a new line of attack. The Spinn is its first touch-screen PMP and sports a nifty operational ‘wheel' that provides a new and...

iriver's first touch-screen enabled PMP sports a nifty ‘toggle wheel' interface. Will it turn our heads or leave us dizzy?

Fair play to iRiver for taking the fight to Apple, but the Spinn lacks the necessary final touches to fully satisfy

iRiver Spinn media player

Beaten by the Cowon S9 in all fields bar outright sound quality, and even there the Spinn's superiority is marginal.

As a music player, the Spinn not at all bad - it gives a strong performance across the genres and is particularly impressive when playing Flac files. As a video player, it's less successful, proving mysteriously intolerant of some file types and...

Sexy isn't it? Definitely. As the name implies, the Spinn will be using iriver's new SPINN interface and controls. It's a flash device ranging from 4-16GB's, and has a rich 3.2" AMOLED display (480 x 372), It has Bluetooth 2.0 support, Flash 2.0, DMB...
