Can't stream Pandora; no headphone or Ethernet jack; no EQ controls make it hard to balance sound; downfiring subwoofer can occasionally be overwhelming; playback isn't as glitch-free as competitors; no podcast support.

The VTech IS9181 Wi-Fi radio has a slick design with a color LCD display, and is currently the best portable option on the market, but it lacks some of the additional streaming audio options found on competitors.

VTech's easy-to-use radio puts millions of songs and thousands of radio stations at your fingertips.

Now if they update the iPod charging cradle, update the WiFi to 802.11 n, and put in an HD AM/FM tuner it would be perfect.

Why bother tuning in your local radio stations when you can listen to Internet radio from around the world? However, some spots don't exactly lend themselves to having a full fledged computer to act as an Internet radio. Vtech aimed to solve that...

Ultimately, the Vtech Wi-Fi Internet radio would be best suited as an alarm clock radio or office radio. However, try and use it to pump your next party and you'll be wishing you were rocking out to the tunes of “Red Red Wine” at your local liquor store.
