Canon i9950 A3 Printer

The i9950 is Canon's latest A3 printer. Is it as fast as it claims?

The usual ‘install drivers and support software and plug in printer’ regime gets you up and running and there a good set of support applets supplied by Canon. These cover basic photo editing and label production, but you’re going to need something more...

Canon i9950

When you consider that a paltry three megapixels is all you need forfull A4 printing, you have to wonder why six and even eight-megapixel cameras are so popular.

Large format prints are delivered fast with fantastic quality, too

Canon - i9950

A4 ink-jet printers are commodity items and are priced as such, but as soon as you want to print larger than A4, you're into specialist equipment that can cost a lot of money. Large format printers ...

This is an excellent medium-format printer, which offers the facility to break out of the A4 straitjacket without having to take out a second mortgage. If you need to be able to print high-quality photos in a wide range of sizes, the i9950 fits the bill.

Canon i9950 review

Rather than a general-purpose inkjet for the office, the i9950 is specifically a digital photographer's printer which produces A3+ output and offers additional features for those who own Canon cameras. Helpfully, the price is within reach of dedicated...

Bubble Jet i9950

Outputs great-looking photos with fine shading especially apparent with reds and greens. It's fast, and prints borderless photos.

Pictures not as striking as those from HP Designjet 30. Only £70 less than that printer.

For evolutionary reasons - the constant search of the caveman for prey and predators - the human eye is more adept at discerning different shades of green than of red or blue. Photos featuring highly detailed levels of green or brown, such as grass or...

Service and support

Canon i9900

Extremely impressive color and black-and-white prints; fast; supports paper sizes up to 13x19; can clean nozzles for subset of colors.

Canon doesn't offer a broad array of fine-arts papers; no straight-through paper path; can reliably feed only a single sheet of 13x19 Photo Paper Pro.

As long as its limited paper options don't matter to you, the Canon i9900 is a very good medium-format photo printer.

Canon I9900 Photo Printer Printer

The i9900 Photo Printer is the first Canon model to add red and green inks to its palette, enabling it to reproduce a broader range of colors in photos. This $480 printer also has light photo cyan and light photo magenta inks, which Canon says will be...

Speedy prints ; Produces great quality photos

No media slots but supports PictBridge ; Lacks a control panel

The i9900 can operate with its paper trays folded partway up, which saves space on your desk when you're printing on letter-size paper. The printer comes with USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 ports, as well as a Mac-only six-pin FireWire port on the back. If you're...

Canon i9900 Photo Printer

The Canon i9900 prints true photo-quality output at high speed. It also makes a great all-purpose printer.

Fast performance for photos. Separate cartridge for each ink color; true photo quality output. Direct printing from PictBridge cameras.

No memory cards slots, even for transferring files to your PC; relatively slow for standard printing.
