Dell 2130cn - Colour Laser Printer

Dell gives its latest colour laser printer the Borg Cube treatment.

Dell 2130cn review

Dell built a lot of user-friendliness into the Dell 2130cn. For instance, easy-to-read labels aid you in replacing the cartridges (which are nestled in a compartment on the right side of the printer).

We like a lot of things about the Dell 2130cn, but the pricey consumables should make any cost-conscious office pause to consider.

Dell 2130cn colour laser printer

Bags of features and a sharp price make this Dell printer worth a look - but why are the add-ons so expensive?

Expensive add-ons; no Mac support; power hungry

Inside the Dell resides a 400MHz processor, and 256MB of memory (expandable to 1.28GB), which is par for the course in this price range. Ditto the 20 pages a minute for black and white, and 16ppm for colour printing speed. If anything, those...

Dell 2130cn

The cubelike Dell 2130cn colour laser printer tries to address the small-office audience. It does quite a good job, but its pricey consumables overshadow many of its accomplishments.

Dell 2130cn

The Dell 2130cn is an affordable and quite competent colour laser printer that can be directly connected to a PC using a USB port or plugged into a ne...

Relatively cheap, fast, good quality printing, separate USB port for Wi-Fi configuration

Expensive running costs, extra options are extremely expensive, Web interface could be more comprehensive

Dell's 2130cn can produce surprisingly good results at a reasonably fast pace given its price. However, it doesn't offer the most comprehensive remote administration options.

2130CN

Dell's cubelike 2130cn color laser printer tries to address the small-office audience that needs something between Dell's brawny 3130cn and its lighter-weight 1230c. It does quite a good job, but its pricey consumables overshadow many of its...

Very inexpensive purchase price Nice print quality; fast graphics speed

Extremely expensive toner No Mac support

The 2130cn ships with a high-yield, 2500-page black (K) cartridge, and standard-size, 1000-page cyan (C), magenta (M), and yellow (Y) cartridges. Unfortunately, replacing any of these supplies may induce sticker shock. At the time of our review, the...

Budget color laser printer

Reviewers say the Dell Color Laser 2130cn is a quality budget laser printer for PCs, best for occasional home use or light office work. The price is not as low as the highly rated Dell 1320c (*Est. $300), but the 2130cn comes with a lot more standard...

Inexpensive, good print quality, network-ready, upgradeable, small footprint

High toner costs, not for heavy office use, windows only, could be faster

Dell 2130cn - an affordable and networkable workgroup colour laser

The Dell 2130cn colour laser is capable and cheap, but has pricey addons and consumables.

There you have it: the printer itself is cheap, with great performance in terms of features, speed and and output quality - you won't be disappointed in those areas. However, the high cost of consumables and accessories detract from the overall good...

Great Home Network Color Laser Printer

I have installed (with the help of Dell Tech) this as my home network printer. Took all of about 10 minutes with Dell Tech. It serves 7 pc's with Windows 7. I upgraded the memory to 1 gb. It works great. Should have done this sooner.
