Epson Expression Premium XP-800 review

A smart MFP that performs pretty well, but it's very expensive to buy and run

Epson Expression Premium XP-800 review

Physically, the Epson Expression Premium XP-800 is smaller than the average MFP, at 390x339x191mm when all doors and trays are closed. It's coloured a sparkly midnight blue that looks different depending on the angle from which you view it. Said...

If you're not worried about operating costs--and you probably shouldn't be with a low-volume unit such as the XP-800--you'll like everything else about it. It's fast, it produces exceptionally nice output, and it lacks nothing in the way of features....

Epson Expression Premium XP-800 review

Epson's Expression Premium XP-800 Small-in-one Printer is a great little multifunction that handles every SOHO chore in the book and is especially well-suited for graphic artisans. But considering how much the printer costs, it feels like the ink...

Nice output quality; Duplex printing and scanning; CD/DVD printing

Inks are somewhat pricey; User guide is online only

Epson Expression Premium XP-800 Review

The XP-800 packs a lot of performance and functionality into a very compact footprint. It's easy to set up and connect for the most part, and delivers decent quality when printing photos and every-day output.

Overall, Epson’s Premium XP-800 offers a lot of capability in a small form factor. Print quality is good, especially if you use one of Epson’s specialty papers, although you may need to tweak some settings to get the best results. Features like the...

Review: Epson Expression Premium XP-800 Small-in-One Printer

Epson's Expression Premium XP-800 is a great little multifunction that handles every SOHO chore in the book and is especially well-suited for graphic artisans. But for a nearly $300 printer, ink costs are high.

Epson Expression Premium XP-800 Small-In-One Printer

The Epson Expression Premium XP-800 Small-in-One Printer may be petite for an MFP, but it packs a lot of features and performance into its small frame.

Compact. Two-sided printing, copying, scanning, and faxing. 30-page ADF. Prints on optical media. Touch screen. Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi Direct connectivity.

Sub-par text quality. Paper capacity low for use in a home office.

Epson Expression Premium XP-800 Review

Epson unveiled the Expression Premium XP-800 in September and we are sharing our full review! But can the Expression Premium XP-800 really replace the Artisan 837?

Print quality ; Increased print speeds ; Duplexing ADF

Costly ink replacements ; Lack of photo software

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Same problems as have been reported.

Avoid this printer like the plague.

None. Never got it to work

As reported on Epson's own website, this printer has a chronic problem of not recognizing the black ink cartridge when it is installed. This happened to me right out of the box. As a result, the printer is completely unusable. Should have done more...
