HP joins the touchscreen LCD club with this new inkjet all-in-one.

The rest of the software installation provides the usual basic file management and OCR, as well as useful applets like HP Smart Web Printing. There's driver support on the supplied CD for Windows from XP onwards and OS X from version 10.4.

HP has employed Touchsmart technology in this inkjet multifunction printer

Produces great photos, Touchsmart control panel is responsive, Snapfish by HP access, automatic duplexing

Can't print document files directly from USB drives and memory cards, inconsistent Wi-Fi access, no CD/DVD printing, no scan settings on control panel, expensive consumables

The HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m is great for printing photos, both from memory cards and HP's Snapfish service. However, it lacks several features and we had some issues when connecting to a wireless network.

The Photosmart Premium is a nifty little multifunction with the added novelty of a touchscreen. It does a great job of plain text, but it's a pity about its colour prints.
