Canon i-SENSYS LBP6650dn

It's rare to find a printer which lives up to its specifications, particularly on speed. This mono laser printer does.

While we've never quite seen the value the printer industry puts on out-and-out speed, particularly on a machine which isn't going to be used anything like continuously, we can appreciate the value of getting even a moderately sized print job out...

Canon ImageClass LBP6650dn

The Canon imageClass LBP6650dn monochrome laser printer offers reasonably fast speed and better than par graphics and photo quality.

Top-quality graphics for a mono laser, better than par photos. Built-in duplexer. Ethernet connection.

Relatively high cost per page.

Canon imageClass LBP6650dn

Theoretically faster than the Canon imageClass LBP6300dn ($300 street, 4 stars) that I recently reviewed, but a close cousin otherwise, the Canon LBP6650dn ($400 street) shares many of the same strengths, including fast speed, ample paper handling, and...

Relatively high cost per page

The Canon imageClass LBP6650dn monochrome laser printer is a good fit for a small office, but unless you need its relatively high-quality graphics and photos, less expensive choices may serve just as well.

To test this printer, we installed it on the network on a system having Windows 7 with 1GB RAM. While installing you can also choose the USB port but there is no WiFi support. Before installing the printer, we assigned the IP address to the printer...

The printer is a decent buy for small workgroup requirements.

Works OK - if you can figure out how.

I've been around technology for 40yrs. This was a pain to setup. The CD software did not work. Ended up using the printer's display panel to setup. Not what I'd call user friendly, but in the end - it worked. If you're not tech savvy - get something else.
