Xerox Phaser 3250/DN review

The Xerox Phaser 3250/DN posted midrange scores in our speed tests. Xerox promises a print speed of up to 30 pages per minute - and on plain-text pages it got close, hitting 27.7ppm (although just 7ppm on graphics pages). As commonly happens with...

Despite its disagreeable paper tray, the Xerox Phaser 3250/DN offers impressive value for the price. Its speed and print quality are good enough for most home users, and the included automatic duplexer helps make the workplace greener. Busier offices...

Xerox Phaser 3250/DN review

The Xerox Phaser 3250/DN monochrome laser printer could fit well into a small office or home office. It is inexpensive, requires little effort to set up and maintain, and has enough helpful features to offset its handful of drawbacks.

Inexpensive purchase price ; Automatic duplexer included

Unfriendly paper tray design ; Somewhat pricey toner

The Phaser 3250/DN's consumables costs are a bit above average, but not unreasonably so. The machine ships with a 2000-page starter cartridge. Replacements come in two sizes: a 3500-page regular cartridge ($89, or 2.5 cents per page) and a 5000-page...

Xerox Phaser 3250DN Printer Review

Inexpensive purchase price ; Automatic duplexer included

Unfriendly paper tray design ; Somewhat pricey toner

This is a cheap, decent printer, whose automatic duplexer helps you forget the klunky paper tray.

Samsung trash in a Xerox wrapper

If you're looking for a capable, nicely-optioned laser in this price range, avoid this as there are much better and more reliable options out there. We replaced our two failed 3250s with Oki B411dns, which despite costing slightly less have proven to...

Relatively cheap, fast (when it works), comes with both networking and automatic duplexing, fairly-priced consumables

Not durable at all. We had two of these where I work in light-duty areas (under 500 pages per month average) and both failed before they were two years old. Not long after buying these, I learned I'd been had - these are just cheap Samsung lasers...

Great printer for a small office

Extremely configurable. Ethernet printing works easily with minimal configuration. The diagnostics printouts (what you get when you hold down the button for a few seconds) have tons of information, including the important stuff like IP and subnet mask.

Excellent print quality, double-sided printing, looks very clean (no paper trays sticking out), modules plug in easily and look like part of original device. Runs quiet compared to most laser printers. Can handle a several hundred pages at a time...

If you're set up for double-sided printing, the printer will suck pages back in and then out again even if nothing needs to be printed on the back. Also, high-capacity toner carts are pretty expensive (~$105) and there aren't many generic versions...

Didn't last very long

Was a great little printer while it lasted. Fast, clean prints, easy install, I just expect products from both NewEgg and Xerox to perform longer than about 8 or 9 months, especially under very low volume.

Economical printer, cheap toner, easy set-up

Indicates it requires service in less than a year. The red LED light is illuminated, and won't turn off. I replaced the toner cartridge, changed drivers, etc. The "help" is very limited in what it will tell you is wrong with the printer. A solid LED...

Excellent. Simple, Reliable.

I work as an IT administrator and have had exposure to many brands over the years. Xerox machines are zero-nonsense. Despite the slightly higher price tag, they are simply the most reliable, durable, and adherent to standards.

The toner is affordable. The machine is built solidly. At home, I've printed thousands of pages over several months without paper jams or issues. Its double-sided (duplex) printing is wonderful. Networking is robust and Linux and Mac OS X auto-discover...

Slightly higher price-tag than other printers with similar specs

Easy to Set Up!

This works just the way a network device ought to. Take it out, plug it in, install software, hit print button. Yep, it was that easy. I'm running Vista Home Premium with another networked PC running XP. Installed the supplied drivers on both machines...

TRYING AGAIN

I bought one of these. It worked fine for a year, which was the warranty period. Then it stopped working. I threw it out, and bought a replacement printer from another manufacturer.
