BenQ W1200

Although it may be a touch aggressive for some tastes, BenQ's new £1,200 projector offers a heck of a lot for its money.

Pictures are very sharp and clean ; Colours are intense but believable ; Good price for what's on offer

Black levels could be deeper ; Fan noise can distract ; No vertical image shift

The W1200 does its best to turn us against it with its uneven fan noise, slightly flimsy build quality and worst of all its missing vertical image shift. But ultimately, no matter how much we tried to stay upset with it, the exceptional sharpness,...

BenQ W1200 review

Best projector up to £1500, Awards 2012.BenQ rewrites the rules for budget projectors with the W1200

Build quality and spec ; fine picture, with excellent contrasts and heroic levels of detail

No vertical lens shift, so it’s not ideal for using on a coffee table ; motion processing can occasionally look unnatural

Best projector up to £1500, Awards 2012. A brilliantly accomplished performer and a must-see projector

BenQ W1200 review

First impressions of the W1200, BenQ's latest home cinema projector, are good; it's compact, quiet and stylish. The glossy white and silver plastic chassis is easy on the eye and the projector is small enough to fit on a shelf. Like most projectors...

A great DLP projector with plenty of display options, but it costs more than the equivalent LCD competition

BenQ W1200 HD DLP projector

Review BenQ's W1200 Full HD projector is shocking. Shockingly good that is. I've seen plenty of inexpensive single chip DLP projectors over the past few years, and while I've admired their functionality I've never hankered after a single one....

Overall, the W1200 presents a great argument for not spending an arm and a leg on a high-end home cinema projector. Bizarrely, I’m going to advocate you spend even less. The W1200 has a lookalike sibling which lacks frame interpolation and is £200...

BenQ - W1200

Small, handsomely designed and selling for just over a grand, BenQ's latest Full HD projector is aimed at the 'home projection' market - and that means photos and gaming as well as home cinema. The ...

Ultra-clean and reference-level HD detail - together with startlingly bright and well-saturated colours - suggest that BenQ has developed a good value projector for all occasions that's capable of consistently incredible pictures from HD sources. We're...

BenQ W1200 DLP Projector Review

ISF certified, full calibration controls, anamorphic ready and yet only £1200 - what's wrong?

Good lumens output at price point ; Sharp images ; Excellent calibration controls ; ISF certified ; Excellent accurate images at the price point ; Good video processing

Blacks are grey ; Fixed lens shift ; Requires careful set up ; Lack of overall shadow detailing ; Noisy if placed near seating position ; Slight instances of rainbow effect

BenQ W1200 DLP Projector

With a steady flow of new models hitting the market since the CEDIA Expo, I’ve had plenty of projectors passing through my theater of late. When I got the opportunity to review the BenQ W1200, I realized it was my first time evaluating a product from...

BenQ W1200 review

When it comes to home theatre setups, the standard choice is either a high-definition LCD or Plasma TV. With them, come budget constraints. LCD TVs for

The BenQ W1200 isn’t the ultimate of projectors out there. The full 1080p resolution does add a bit more to the detail, but you absolutely must use 1080p video on it to take advantage of it. The BenQ W1200 - a 'homely' looking projector

BenQ W1200

For a family room type environment, it's also great that the W1200 has plenty of lumens. Though we clocked only 1400 and change out of BenQ's claimed 1800, and our preferred bright mode was down around 1200 lumens, that still is a lot better than most...

Bright entry level home projector with sufficient lumens to double as a portable business projector ; Definitely has that famous DLP look - with deep rich saturated colors ; Capable of screens up to 130" and maybe even larger depending on room etc ;...

Could be a bit quieter at full power, though it is quieter than most other low cost DLP's but noisier than the LCD projectors ; Worse, the projector has a variable fan level - it will speed up or slow down every so often. Many will notice when it...

Other than the BenQ W1200 looking a lot like many other projectors (though it has a touch more style than many), most typical is the documentation: Not a lot of depth, or advice on why to use certain settings
