Superb image accuracy ; Effective HDR performance ; Excellent motion handling ; Good set of features ; Solid build quality

Image could be brighter ; Black levels are weak ; Not native 4K ; Possible rainbow artefacts ; Rather noisy

The BenQ W5700 is a 4K HDR projector aimed squarely at the home cinema market. It boasts an impressive image, some useful features, and a previously unobtainable level of performance and image accuracy for a DLP projector.

Review: BenQ W5700 | Finally, A 4K DLP Projector We Like! BenQ W5700

 

True 4K or not, BenQ W5700 nonetheless gives razor sharp images on movies.

Brilliant, true-to-life colours right out of the box. Especially with extended colour space. Good HDR tone mapping.

Non-motorized optics and hence no lens memory settings makes the projector unsuitable for screens wider than 16:9. Faded black level gives flat images in dark scenes.

Bringing the magic of HDR to a bigger, hopefully better screen

Colour accuracy ; HDR implementation ; Clarity ; Ease of use

Black levels could be deeper

Be it a mid-end or a high-end install, the BenQ W5700 will leave you breathless with its naturalness and HDR implementation.

amazing projector

 

I viewed a couple of projectors and went with the benq because the colours were so vivid. I have now installed it myself and it was easy plug and play pretty much. I don't hear the noise from it like some reviews. All in all great home cinema

After a lot of research and initially auditioning the Epson TW-EH9400 I went for the BenQ W5700. I had my heart set on the Epson until I saw it in the flesh - the 2K resolution was noticeably poor compared to the Sony, Optoma and BenQ 4K (faux-K)...
