JVC DLA-X700R

It's not truly 4K, but it is still magnificent

Incredible contrast performance ; e-shift 4K does deliver a more dense visual experience ; Huge amount of calibration options

Very minor motion softness ; Input lag is rather high ; It's not really 4K

You might also want to turn off the intelligent lens aperture system, as while this gives a marginal extra ‘kick’ to the image, it can cause some small brightness stability distractions which we’d argue you don’t really need to be bothered by when...

JVC DLA-X700R: The best projector picture we've ever reviewed

Yes, there are probably even better projectors available than JVC's DLA-X700R, but we haven't reviewed them and they likely cost even more. And yes, its cheaper line-mate is a better value. But none of that takes away from its incredible picture quality.

The ; delivered the best overall picture quality of any projector we've ever tested, as deep, inky black levels and brighter highlights lead to superb contrast. It has extremely accurate, well-saturated color; comprehensive video processing,...

Extremely expensive and a worse value than the JVC DLA-X35; relatively limited light output, e-Shift and 4K input capability don't improve picture quality; inaccurate pre-calibration picture settings; doesn't include accessories necessary to watch 3D.

If you can afford the JVC DLA-X700R -- and the dedicated room, high-quality screen, and professional calibration required to make it shine -- its spectacular picture quality is worth the steep investment.

JVC DLA-X700R review

OK, so we haven't reviewed this projector's even-more-expensive sibling the DLA-X900R , nor either of Sony's 4K projectors the VPL-HW600 or VW1100ES , nor any number of even more luxurious projectors from the likes of Sim2, Runco, etc. Until now the...

JVC DLA-X700R Three-Chip D-ILA Projector Review

On my JVC X55 review last year, my complaints were that it only produces 400 lumens in low lamp mode when calibrated and that 3D was much too loud. On the X700 this year the low-lamp mode is 50% brighter and the high lamp mode is now quiet enough to...

JVC DLA-X700R 3D D-ILA Projector

2D Performance 3D Performance Features

My dad worked on helicopters when I was growing up. In our garage was a picture of the latest Army Chinook, with the tag line “Only the Silhouette Remains the Same.” When I started my review of the DLA-X700R, JVC’s latest 3D LCOS projector, that phrase...
