mSata review with x220

If you are considering a mSata to pair with the mechanical internal hard drive, you should not hesitate to make this purchase.

Overall, the mSata has been a great upgrade for my ThinkPad x220. It is definitely faster than the HDD and loads Windows and applications very quickly, which is the reason why I made the purchase. I haven't had any installation (which was easy) or...

I chose the Intel 80GB version because I read that it was reliable. However, I wish I had about 40 GB more to play with. I still have 19GB available after installing Win 7 and apps, but I always would like more space if possible

Intel 310 series 80 gb SSD

Totally worth the initial cost. Saves me so much time waiting for boot-up/loading programs like matlab.

Incredibly small physical size for the storage space ; Reasonably priced80 gb is sweet spot for me-large enough to install Windows 7 pro 64-bit and necessary programs (Matlab, Mathematica, Maple, Finale) and still have head room for future programs ;...

Cost can still be expensive for some ; Not as fast as non mSATA SSD

MiniPCIe != mSATA

Why on the green earth did we take a "standard" and then make it do something completely different? Argh.

I am sure for the small handfull of laptops that support mSATA this is a grea SSD ; Also, if you have a Z68 based intel motherboard then you could possible use this as a cache for your drives if you are willing to install and use the intel Rapid...

For everyone (the majority of people) who have just a normal mini PCIe slot, this product will not work

Awesome

This drive rocks. Installed it into an Acer W500 tablet which came with a 32GB SSD. This drive allows me to dual boot with Windows 7 and Windows 8 Developer Preview

Nothing so far. This drive is fast

Fabulous in my T420s

I put all of my "Program" files on this drive and "User" files on my conventional drive. Now, after several months of use, this drive has about 30GB free, even with a 6GB hiberfil and 8 GB pagfile

This is my boot drive for my Thinkpad T420s. Reduced boot from 45 sec to about 16 sec on Win7 Pro. Very snappy performance. If you have a Thinkpad that supports this drive, highly recommended

None so far

Great little SSD

Installed in a Lenovo X220t. Boot time cold was 28 seconds. Now 9 seconds. I'm happy.

Incredibly small, and decent speed despite size. Installs and works without a hitch

Capacity and price. Capacity could be higher, and price could always be lower

Used in Asus EP121 Tablet

Able to upgrade a Asus EP121 with a 32 GB SSD to 80 GB in 15 minutes or less.

Works great. Direct drop-in and easy to install

Any HD or SSD is never big enough. :)

Final Review

To all M4500 owners: if you can't afford a 256GB 2.5" SSD. This is the ultimate solution, you get blazing fast boot up, launching apps, etc. and a large storage for files by using your stock HDD. And it's a heck cheaper than the Sammy 64GB mini card...

I was the one who wrote the "Preliminary Review" on this SSD. Now that I got it all set up, I am writing the final review. First off, the screw size I ordered was not the right size. The correct size is #1-72 @ 3/16" Length. You can easily order it...

The reason why it didn't get 5 stars is because it's not as fast as other 2.5" SSD drives that's out there that does 220MB/sec write
