Marvellously integrated sonic image, no shortage of bass

Unsubtle, blocky looks, tweeter can feel a bit 'shut in' with very high frequencies

Good sound and nice design.

A little bit bigger than expected.

Beautifully finished lacquer work. Excellent sound, especially at this bargain price! Handy to have bridging plates provided if they are not to be bi-wired.

(Minor - The plastic blanking plugs in the banana sockets had no 'nib', unlike the earlier Quads, making them a bit difficult to remove. A knife was needed unlike the earlier types when one could grip the 'nib' without getting near the gold metalwork.)

Nice, Shiny .. but I've not listened to them too much.

Excellent sound quality, very open midrange. The speakers have wonderful articulation in vocal tracks. Being used with 2x Audiolab 8000M amps. 1 Amp per channel. Bi-Wired. Music played from CD (Cambridge Audio 740C upsampling CD player) or from coaxial...

The left channel speaker was resonating at a certain frequency which i did not have the equipment to measure, but an audible buzz was apparent at all volume levels. Removing and reinstalling the larger cone rectified the problem. Speakers are now both...

Lovely detailed sound, plenty of bass, shiny cabinets, bi-wireable, good build quality, great value.

Grilles are an ugly shape, speakers need to be a fair distance from rear wall to avoid boomy sound, shame they're not made in the UK but you can't have everything.
