The SVS Prime Tower is a well-built and great-sounding speaker for the money. The "3.5-way" design offers significantly more detail than standard two-way offerings. The speakers are capable of quite deep bass and work well in a home theater context....

The sound's highly detailed character can lack warmth. The rear panel's twin bass ports need a foot or more of clearance from the wall behind the speaker.

The SVS Prime Tower's highly transparent sound will appeal to audiophiles hankering for big-speaker sound at a price they can afford.

Released in late 2014, the SVS Prime Tower speakers quickly established themselves as a pair of contenders. With speakers in this particular price range, you don't expect miracles. You expect faithful reproduction of the sound, without too many glaring...

The Prime Towers deliver great detail, balance and soundstage. We found the mids really warm and engaging. They offer solid build and construction, at a good price - and with a great warranty.

The bass the Prime Towers put out can be unsatisfying. Lack of customization ability with foam plugs, which is a staple on the company’s other products. Probably a little bit old now – and there are better speakers out there.

And if you think the Primes I just attach basic, then you’re going want to get familiar with the ultimate speaker SVS produce: the thunderous Ultra Towers. These not only cost double the price, at $1,000 per speaker, but adding a host of additional...
