iPad Air 3 (2019) review

Apple's iPad Air has resurfaced, and while it doesn't look very exciting, it does have some horsepower underneath its dated hood.

Brilliant-looking laminated screen Cheapest Smart Keyboard iPad Fast charges via Lightning-to-USB-C

Uses the 1st Gen Apple Pencil Traditional design doesn't wow Two speakers instead of four

The iPad Air 3 (2019) has serious horsepower hidden behind its laminated screen and uses Apple’s excellent Smart Keyboard for proper 2-in-1 for productivity. Its traditional design and first-gen Apple Pencil compatibility make it look dated, but it...

Apple iPad Air (2019) review

This could be the best tablet in the whole iPad family

Excellent all-round video ; Solid, weighty audio ; Big, HDR-compatible screen

Awkward speaker placement ; Mini has higher pixel density

If you’re in the market for a tablet for movies and music on the go, there isn’t currently anything better out there

Apple iPad Air (2019) review: The best balance of features and price?

The 2019 model is very similar to the previous generation Pro, but now with Pencil support. Does it make more sense than buying an iPad Pro?

Powerful and speedy performance ; Battery will last a full day ; Pro features like Pencil and Smart Keyboard support are great ; IPadOS improves the experience

Additional accessories aren't cheap ; TouchID over FaceID ; No Type-C port

The latest Air is much like the iPad Pro in all but name. So if you can live without the FaceID, uniform bezels and Type-C port offered by the current Pro, then this 10.5-inch iPad is a compelling offering. Especially considering its sub-£500 price point.

The best iPad in 2019 for most punters

Should really have four speakers

The iPad Air offers a premium tablet experience for a lot less money than the Pro

iPad Air (2019) review

It's not quite an iPad Pro, but it's Apple's next-in-line 'Air' to the throne.

Colourful, laminated screen ; Smart Keyboard cover compatible ; Can fast charge via USB-C

Uses older Apple Pencil ; ProMotion video absent ; Two speakers, not four

The iPad Air has been resurrected to become Apple’s most balanced digital canvas, one that doesn’t compromises on performance, yet doesn’t push the boundaries of price. It’s a brilliantly sized tablet for drawing and photo editing, thanks to its bright...

Apple iPad Air (2019) tablet review

  (Rating Hidden)

It's an old name, but the iPad Air is a brand-new tablet with a screen that's larger than that on the standard iPad. But it's more than just a big screen; this tablet boasts a more up-to-date processor and high-end screen technology that Apple hopes...

Apple iPad Air (2022) review: The best iPad for most people

It's not the cheapest, but if you can afford it, this is the best iPad to buy.

M1 chip means it's crazy fast ; Gorgeous display ; Thin and light body ; Works with iPad Pro accessories ; Deep integration with Macs

Display capped at 60Hz ; Battery life could be better ; Big step up in price over basic iPad ; Accessories sold separately and pricey

Apple iPad Air 2020 review: This feels like an iPad Pro lite

It's not the cheapest, but the new iPad Air is the best tablet for most people.

Fantastic display ; Superb performance ; Supports 2nd-generation Apple Pencil ; Works with Magic Keyboard ; Fast TouchID ; Added functionality thanks to iPadOS 14

No ProMotion display ; Disappointing battery life ; Big step up in price over basic iPad ; Accesories sold separately and pricey
