Archos 101 G9 (Turbo) Review

In some ways it's good to see that Archos are constantly releasing firmware to try and sort out any issues, but on the flip-side there is no excuse for the problems that we faced out-the-box. It could well be an issue with our review sample, but there...

Archos 101 G9 Turbo (250GB) review: Archos 101 G9 Turbo (250GB)

Back when we reviewed the previous version of the Archos 101 G9, we weren't very impressed with its performance. It had some aesthetic flaws, had a poor camera, and was too slow for our taste.

The Archos 101 G9 Turbo version runs Android 4.0, has a neat kickstand, and can play full 1080p HD video.

The Archos 101 G9 Turbo's processing speed is slow, its video records out of sync, and it has some awkward design errors.

Despite its Android 4.0 update and slightly upgraded processor, the Archos 101 G9 Turbo's glacial lag and cumbersome build makes this tablet safe to skip over.

Archos 101 G9 Turbo Review: A Good Budget Tablet, Largely Because It Gets Out Of Google's Way

Here's what it boils down to: if you're looking for the dirtiest of the dirt cheap tablets without sacrificing functionality and you're not a fan of 7" tablets, this is probably the way to go. ASUS is certainly trying to compete with Archos in this...

1. Full featured product

At this time none - to make it perfect perhaps a second camera.

Charging problems

Bought this unit in May 2012. Love it! Had a few issue with apps freezing, slow charge, no charge, typical Android stuff. Finally failed to charge at all. Working with tech support now on RMA. I'll report back on the tech support experience.

Great when on sale

I purchased this tablet for my wife during a very brief promotion in which I got it for 140 dollars. At that price, it's hard to fault it. However, since any device has pluses and minutes regardless of the price, I'll try to be fair. There was one...

Good value - ok quality

Good features and value. Still disappointed the 3G stick was a bust in N. Am. Great features and sensitive screen, but get a stylus. Works well, but is best with a strong WiFi signal. The first one was D.O.A., but was replaced promptly. Overall, glad I...
