The Honor Play may be a gaming-focused smartphone but the specs and price make this Kirin 970-powered handset a worthwhile option for anyone after a deal.

A brand new mid-range phone for Honor

Slim, attractive design ; Top-end power ; Big display

One storage option ; No wireless charging ; Singular speaker

There isn't much that makes the Honor Play excel as a gaming phone apart from its powerful internals, but with a huge screen and a premium look it makes for an all-round impressive device. That's especially true when you consider the price.

Gets your game on… without giving the game away

Stellar gaming performance ; Great value considering the hardware ; Notched screen is on point for 2018

Camera is fairly average for the cash ; Performance gains are pretty minor
