Hands on: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the new tablet to beat

Slimmer than the iPad 2, with a superior Android interface and going for a competitive price, the tablet is one of the top contenders in this round of the tablet wars when it ships in Singapore in ...

Not that it matters to me, of course. This is one tablet I can recommend heartily. That brings me to the biggest grouse – it’s only here in July!

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 delivers a consistent and reliable Android big-screen tablet experience, but unless you're a Samsung loyalist, there are better values to be had.

Smooth performance. Runs Android 4.4. Loud speakers. Good multitasking support.

Outdated display. Anemic cameras.

Competition and Conclusions Like its 7- and 8-inch siblings, the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 exudes mediocrity. The competition isn't quite as fierce in the 10-inch space, and most every other manufacturer is defaulting towards the low-end for their large screen...

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 review

The 10-inch version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 doesn't have a lot going for it, except for its low price. It's generally under-powered, but is probably sufficient for the less demanding user, and is certainly a bargain.

You might have gathered from our comments so far that we dislike this tablet, but that's not entirely true. Although this is one of the lowest spec 10 inch tablets available - on a par with the Apple iPad 2 from 2011 - it's saved by it's price. At just...

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 Review: Not much on offer

Samsung has long played a game in the Indian market - It releases a base device and then offers new versions of it with just microscopic changes for e.g. little changes in the form factor, the amount of RAM etc. It puts in no major effort to woo the...

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, in my opinion lags too far behind others in the race. It does not, in any way, impress me. The hardware is below par and the software isn’t out of the world either.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 review

More open than iPad 2 and much better cameras ... Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1v.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a solid high-end tablet contender that is more than capable of giving the iPad 2 a run for its money, provided the Android Market is fleshed out with more apps that take advantage of the larger tablet screen size.
