LG 49UF770V review

A great-value mid-range 4K TV only let down by its upscaling engine.

Great value ; Excellent webOS platform ; Quality UHD playback

Struggles with upscaling ; Not a great chassis

The LG 49UF770V is a great-value Ultra HD set, with the finest smart TV system in the webOS software. And at 49-inches it will be a comfortable fit in most living rooms. What isn't a comfortable fit though is the slightly ropey 4K upscaling engine.

The LG 65UF7700 is one of LG's 2015 4K TVs which isn't one of the company's now legendary OLED ultra HD TV models and as such it seems to suffer from the same problems that often plaque other non-OLED 4K offerings from this otherwise capable company....

LG 49UF770V review

LG's 2015 range of edgelit LED TVs offers a good value entry point into UHD (4K) viewing. The 49UF770V model is the same as the 49UF850V, but with a less refined plastic design, no 3D viewing, and lower quality audio.

LG 55UF770V review

The LG 55UF770V is one of the cheapest 55-inch UHD televisions in the shops in 2015, and that means that it can't be ignored. It's not the most refined TV we've seen this year, but for all-round family viewing it's a good option.

The 55UF770V is the same as the 55UF850V, except that it has different styling, no 3D capability and misses out on the Harman / Kardon sound system of the UF850V. It's £200 cheaper too, making it one of the cheapest 55-inch TVs you can buy.

LG 43UF770V

Haven't compared it to other sets but very happy with the picture quality and upscaling.

Find the magic remote difficult to point and control, and slow to respond keying in channel numbers, but don't know how this compares with other smart TVs.
