LG 55UB950V

LG's 4K and webOS TV has great bits and less great bits

UHD pictures look blisteringly sharp, Pictures are bright and colourful, webOS is a work of genius

Serious black level problems, Input lag is far too high for gaming, 3D crosstalk issues

LG 55UB950V review

Sharp, clean picture ; Punchy colours ; WebOS is a work of genius

Issues with contrast ; Could do with more subtlety

A talented TV that’s good to look at and great to use

LG 55UB950V review

LG's first 2014 4K TV also delivers webOS

It's seriously attractively designed ; Bright pictures look great ; webOS delivers brilliant smarts ; Magic remote works well

Below average native contrast ; Local dimming sometimes clumsy ; No ITVPlayer or 4OD ; High input lag

There's loads to like about the 55UB950V. Its pictures sometimes look awesome, especially in 4K, it's well designed, its price is aggressive by 4K standards, and the new webOS interface works superbly. Shame, then, that its pictures fall prey to fairly...

LG 55UB950V 4K TV review: webOS meets ultra-high definition

The LG UB950V brings a double dose of excitement, offering ultra-high definition (UHD) resolution, otherwise known as 4K, in addition to LG's webOS user interface. The large resolution is matched by large screen sizes, as the UB950V is available in 65-...

webOS interface is impressive, nice design, Magic Remote, plenty of connectivity, sensible price

Contrast and dimming problems lead to poor low-light scenes, 3D performance not great

The LG UB950V has plenty to offer as a 55-inch ultra-high definition TV. The price has fallen from over £2000 at launch to the more appealing £1599 from many retailers - and you can take a couple of hundred off that if you opt for the UB850V and lose...

LG 55UB950V 4K TV review

4K is mighty fine, but this LG's real superpower is its WebOS

WebOS is a work of genius ; Lovely to control ; Punchy colours

Not the most natural or realistic colours ; Issues with contrast ; Build quality a bit plasticky

A truly superb interface held back just slightly by a performance that’s simply very good

LG 55UB950V (UB950V) Ultra HD 4K TV Review

How does the LG UB950 stack up against the other Ultra HD 4K TVs released this year?

Attractive design ; Excellent build quality ; Good sound ; Reference smart platform ; Easy to use

Mediocre blacks ; Crosstalk on 3D ; Issues with calibration controls

The LG 55UB950V is a good Ultra HD 4K TV in many respects, it's attractively designed, well built and hits the right price point. There are plenty of connections, even if they are too close to the edge, and a great set of features, including the...

LG 55UB9500

The LG UB9500 series' quick-switching WebOS interface and excellent 4K upconversion can't get past its below-par contrast and light bloom issues, or its very high price for an LED TV line.

4K content and 1080p upconversion are crisp and sharp. WebOS is extremely fast when switching sources and apps.

Expensive. Poor black levels. Lots of light bloom.

WebOS currently has a generous selection of apps and services, with all of the usual suspects present. There's the aforementioned Web browser and YouTube, along with Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, and Vudu. The LG Store offers hundreds of...

Consumer review (lg.com)

Excellent

Looked at lots of televisions, decided on the LG because of past history of good service from LG products. The picture is excellent, the best of all the televisions in the store and the price was better considering all the features. I watch "You Tube"...

Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

disappointed

This TV is the only set we found with a decent view from off to the side. That is why we bought it.
