Philips 47PFL6008S

Philips proves it can still play with the big boys

Good 2D and 3D pictures ; Good looking TV ; Good contrast for a passive 3D set

Smart TV lacks many key services ; Sluggish smart TV menus

remembering to add that Netflix is now available!

Philips 60PFL6008

A 60-inch TV that proves size isn't everything

Great looking TV ; Pictures are bright and colourful ; Good sharpness with HD

Serious backlight inconsistencies ; Sluggish Smart TV system ; Processing can become overwhelming if you're not careful with its settings

Philips has thoughtfully given you manual control over the vast majority of the key picture processing elements too – though there is a downside to this, as it makes the Philips 60PFL6008 quite demanding to use if you can be bothered to ensure that...

Philips 42PFL6008 review

Floating LED TV puts detailed images ahead of smart stuff

Ambilight ; Powerful audio ; Double-sided remote ; Sharp 2D and SD ; Smooth 3D

Cable, but no Freesat ; Limited smart TV ; Sluggish GUI ; Media playback confuses ; Wi-Fi Smart Screen stutters

There are few TVs around that produce pin-sharp and clean images from all sources, but the Philips 42PFL6008 is such a TV.

Philips 47PFL6008 review

It might have its niggles, but we're willing to forgive them (mostly) for the wonderful picture and comfortable viewing experience. We're impressed

Crisp, clean picture with plenty of subtle detail ; Passive 3D at its best ; Ambilight feature is a bonus ; Solid, easy-to-listen-to sound ; Good remote control

Slightly sluggish reaction times ; Smart features are limited ; Dated interface ; Satellite tuner is not a Freesat-compliant unit

It might have its niggles, but we’re willing to forgive them (mostly) for the wonderful picture and comfortable viewing experience. We’re impressed.

Philips 42PFL6008

Stylish TV with impressive picture and comfortable 3D – this one's a strong contender

Crisp, clean picture ; Comfortable passive 3D ; Above-average sound ; QWERTY remote control

Blacks could be darker ; Slightly sluggish reaction times ; Limited smart features ; Awkward interface

The Philips 42PFL6008 certainly holds its own against its pricier rivals. It’s a very good performer in a lot of areas, and it has some really nice features.

Philips 55PFL6008S/60

Although it has a limited smart TV portal, the 6008 is a great-looking TV with features you won't find anywhere else. It doesn't have the most responsive user interface, but picture quality and the addition of Ambilight makes films and games look superb.

Picture quality, design, Ambilight, well connected,

limited Smart TV portal, not the most responsive user interface

Philips PFL6008T

It's packing a QWERTY keyboard on its remote control, but is this smart TV the brainiest of the bunch. Watch our group test in the video above to find out. Philips PFL6008T is tagged with Philips, HDTV and Smart TV. Select a tag (Philips, for example)...

Philips 55PFL6008 TV Review

We take a look at Philips mid-range 3D Full HD LED LCD TV

Very accurate colours ; Attractive price ; Lovely design ; Clever cable tidy system ; Ambilight can work very well ; Decent feature set ; Dual sided remote is good ; Comfortable 3D

Average black levels and contrast in low light ; Dimming system is flawed ; Some software glitches ; Menus are cumbersome ; Not as many apps as some

We certainly can’t fault the design team back at Philips HQ, the PFL6008 is a beauty with a ‘frameless’ appearance and a skeletal base-stand that gives the impression the screen is detached from it, in very stylish order. There’s also a rather clever...
