Samsung 75ES8000

First Look: Samsung unveils its latest flagship LED TV, the new ES8000 series, at the Las Vegas CES and inevitably they look good. But unlike previous years, they didn't steal the show...

So there, in a nutshell, is what we could figure out about the 75ES8000. To sum it all up, it appeared a mighty fine and lovably huge TV that we’re very much looking forward to testing. But it wasn’t the absolute stand out show-stealer that its Samsung...

Samsung PS51ES8000

With Panasonic already setting the plasma bar high for 2012, can Samsung's flagship plasma TV keep up?

Excellent online service ; Innovative control systems ; Very good pictures, especially with 3D

Gesture control system could be better ; Black level not as deep as Panasonic plasma's ; Some motion issues

We felt sure when we tested its P50ST50 that Panasonic had set a very high bar for 2012 plasma technology. So it’s not entirely surprising to find that even Samsung’s new flagship plasma set doesn’t manage to scale the same picture heights, at least in...

Samsung UE55ES8000 review

The flagship Samsung UE55ES8000 adds gesture and voice control to Smart TV

Dual-core picture quality ; Great multimedia file support ; Stunning industrial design

Voice/gesture feels faddy ; Needs tweaking for best pics ; Pricey

Samsung UE46ES8000 review

Samsung's new flagship 46-inch TV pretty much rocks

Irresistible design ; Outstanding 2D ; Very good 3D ; Leading online system

Poor picture presets ; Gesture control can frustrate ; Backlight bleed with 3D ; Average audio

If Samsung is going to retain its current position as the world's number one TV brand, it needs to set the bar high with flagship products such as the new UE46ES8000. Especially now that recently reviewed LG televisions such as the 55LM660T and...

Samsung UE46ES8000

Class-leading design, high spec, gesture and voice control, good in 3D, class-leading 2D

So-so sound, rivals make Samsung’s Smart Hub look a little cluttered

The UE46ES8000 is the benchmark set against which all other TVs will be measured in 2012

Following hard on the heels of its 55 inch sibling, this is an amazing television that's a real flag in the sand

Class-leading design ; high spec ; gesture and voice control ; good in 3D ; class-leading 2D

So-so sound ; rivals make Samsung’s Smart Hub look a little cluttered.

Samsung UE55ES8000 review

Samsung's new 55-inch TV redefines 'smart'

Outstanding picture quality ; Impressively expanded online platform ; Innovative control system ; Sensational design

Picture presets are poor ; Gesture control not great ; Limited viewing angle ; Backlight bleed with 3D

Samsung has developed a handy habit of being the first major brand out of the traps each year when it comes to launching new TV ranges.

Samsung UE55ES8000

Towering specification, including a host of novel control interfaces, outstanding picture quality, with advances in 3D particularly notable, thoughtful online functionality

Gesture recognition better in theory than in practice, not cheap

If this is anything to go by, 2012’s going to be quite a year for televisions

Samsung UE40ES8000

Samsung continues to impress with excellent Blu-ray picture quality and smart content

Crisp, detailed images; well-designed and friendly interface; great control app and interactive controls; extensive features

Pricey; not the finest DVD upscaler

The 40ES8000 is one of the more expensive sets we've tested at this size, but it is bristling with features. Its comparatively poor showing with DVD upscaling gives other sets a certain edge, but it’s a gorgeous screen that certainly sets a high standard.
