Oculus Go

The Oculus Go is a new headset offers a completely self contained VR experience. It's completely wireless, and it doesn't rely on a phone for its screen.

Decent screen resolution and refresh rate ; Tracking feels accurate ; Plenty of software available at launch ; Motion controller included as standard

Battery life could be better ; No killer app

There’s a very solid foundation here for a great VR experience, with good motion tracking and a decent screen, but the Oculus Go doesn’t quite have itself a killer app at launch.

Oculus Go review: this is the VR headset the world's been waiting for

The technology may not be cutting edge but with no wires, a low price and 1000+ games and apps already, Oculus Go is a winner

Decent quality VR on the cheap ; Everything you need in one box with no wires ; Attractive and comfortable headset with excellent built-in speakers ; Numerous fun games and experiences

Basic head tracking only ; Tunnel vision simulation via narrow FOV ; There's lots of stuff to play with but no apparent 'killer app' ; Controller is decidedly basic

Oculus Go review: Affordable VR for the masses

The Oculus Go is a well-crafted virtual reality headset. It doesn't need a smartphone or gaming PC to run, so it's incredibly affordable and open to

Wireless VR is joyful ; Easy-to-use controller ; User-friendly interface and intuitive navigation ; Affordable pricepoint ; Brilliant design features ; Spatial sound without headphones ; Comfortable to wear

Some issues with motion-sickness ; Battery life is a bit short ; Straight edges of the screen are visible at times ; Some experiences are blocky and underwhelming ; HTC Vive and Oculus Rift are still that much better

The Oculus Go is a well-crafted virtual reality headset. It doesn't need a smartphone or gaming PC to run, so it's incredibly affordable and open to anyone and everyone. The fact it's wireless makes it a joy to use, while the focus on design comfort...

Oculus Go review

The virtual reality headset you've been waiting for? Probably not...

Comfortable in short doses ; Easy to setup ; Audio is well done

Lacking for content ; Screen is so-so

A well-made VR headset that’s once again lacking for content

Oculus Go review

The headset that will take VR mainstream

Experience is almost as good as Oculus Rift ; Minimal screen-door effect ; Premium device for an affordable price

Sits heavy on the face ; Light comes through the bottom ; Battery-to-charge-time ratio isn’t ideal

Oculus Go marks a new era for VR, one in which anyone can simply slip on a headset and dive into virtual realms. Though not perfect, it offers a comfortable fit, solid build, excellent visuals and the promise of more great content to come. For the...

Oculus Go review: Finally a VR system for the masses

No computer? No smartphone? No problem. Oculus Go is the best way to get into VR

A completely standalone VR headset ; A huge library of VR games and experiences ; Lightweight, portable and cheaper than anything else out there

No fast-charging systems ; Lack of 6DoF for VR experiences

What Oculus Go does, however, is prove that instant-on VR really can crack the code of mass market appeal. It’s capable enough to deliver an immersive VR experience, yet affordable enough not to put off huge swathes of its target market. If you’ve been...

Oculus Go Review: Free your VR

One of the first proper ‘standalone' VR experiences to hit UK homes is the Oculus Go. This £199 headset boasts its own display and Qualcomm...

Solid value for money ; Decent library of titles ; Sharp display ; Comfortable to use

Limited storage

The Oculus Go is a fantastic standalone solution for anyone who wants to try VR at home, without resorting to buying a specific smartphone to make it possible. It’s surprisingly affordable given it’s an all-in-one experience, while the Store is getting...

Oculus Go, reviewed: The best $199 VR

The first standalone VR system has arrived, no phone required. Here's our first week with one.

A completely self-contained, standalone, no-phone-or-PC-necessary VR system. Comfortable design and feel. Sharp-looking display and effective built-in speakers with spatial audio. Hundreds of apps. Oculus setup app works with iOS and Android phones....

Two-hour battery life. It's a sit-down experience (no room tracking). No expandable storage. No kid-safe settings. Lacks multiple account options.

Oculus Go is VR for the masses: A self-contained, standalone virtual reality headset that's portable, affordable and delivers a great experience for the price.

Oculus Go review: Proof VR really is the future of entertainment

Untethered from a computer, without the shackles of a mobile phone, Oculus Go is VR at its most accessible

And this is where Oculus Go wins: price. Xiaomi is known for its affordable devices, and Oculus Go is a prime example. No other VR device comes close to Go for sheer affordability.
