Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

The combat flight sim genre is in a pretty good state these days. While PC owners can enjoy the IL-2 Sturmovik games for that excellent full sim experience, console owners have still seen a slow but steady flow of arcade air combat games in recent...

Big on violent blow-up effects but light on gameplay.

Parents need to know Ace Combat: Assault Horizon is an aerial combat game where you destroy aircraft and buildings more than people. However, the game displays violence graphically, often with big, dramatic explosions. You can kill people on the...

Ace Combat : Assault Horizon

Developed by Project Aces, Ace Combat : Assault Horizon is quite a shallow, repetitive and predictable game, however there is fun to be had during various stages. So, load up on missiles and splash those suckers.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

There should be some of this combat on your horizon

Solid and intense flying action; scripted moments are thrilling; tight controls; varied levels with different aircraft.

Multiplayer servers aren't very busy and matchmaking can be tedious; graphical glitches; some frustratingly cheap moments; military based plots don't get any more generic than this; non existent co-operative AI.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Review

Ace Combat is back with a focus on cinematic engagements and a more real-world military scenario. The new dog fighting mode brings the action up close and personal in this fight for aerial supremacy.

Looks good with excellent damage models, Multiplayer is well done, More cinematic nature might draw in new players

Level pacing is problematic, Gunship targeting is annoying, Reliance on semi-track-based dog fighting mode is a bad move

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

+ Emphasizes rousing close-range gunning over tiny targeting boxes; detailed ground scenery., + Lots of different aircraft, including jets, multi-role fighters, helicopters, and bombers.

? Why doesn’t the game include local split-screen co-op?
