Panasonic HDC-SD60

Can Panasonic's latest HD camcorder find greater recommendation at the entry level than its predecessors?

Excellent video quality ; Comprehensive range of recording settings

None at this price

Panasonic appears to have finally cracked the lower end of the high definition market. The HDC-SD60 and its siblings don't offer quite the gobsmacking value of Samsung's HMX-R10, but the prices of these models are still extremely good, and their...

Panasonic HDC-SD60 review

HD movies and 5MP stills combine to give this cam plenty of all-rounder potential. But will it hit the heights in all departments?

Great movies and surprisingly good still shots at a very attractive price

Panasonic HDC-SD60 review

The SD60 packs lots of impressive features into its petite shell. The lens benefits from Panasonic's superb Power O.I.S. stabilisation system to counteract camera shake, and has a massive 25x zoom range. A so-called Intelligent Zoom function extends...

Competitive picture quality, a great collection of features and a price that should appeal to the masses

Panasonic HDC-SD60

Look closely at Panasonic's impressive new SD60 and you'll discover features you won't find on last year's models. In many respects, the SD60 picks up where the popular SD20 left off. For a start, Panasonic has at last provided a larger 1/4in Cmos...

There's one noticeable omission from the new model: a remote control. This isn't good because it makes it awkward to control the camera when showing off clips on an HDTV when you're slumped in your favourite armchair. That said, if you're importing its...

Panasonic HDC-SD60

An affordable model in Panasonic's HDC series of camcorders, the HDC-SD60 sports a 2.11 megapixel MOS sensor and a 35.7 millimeter lens with 35x intelligent zoom.

Panasonic HDC-SD60

The HDC-SD60 has a nice manual feature set and good performance, as well as solid video quality for its class.

Manual shutter-speed and iris controls ; Comfortable size ; Smarter-than-average autofocus ; Lens focuses relatively closely ; Decent battery life

Soft video ; Cramped, low-resolution touchscreen

Panasonic HDC-SD60 First Impressions Camcorder Review

Panasonic really went to town updating the internal specs for its new mid-range HD camcorder line. The HDC-SD60 features a larger, 1/4.1-inch CMOS sensor, and it includes a 25x optical zoom lens (up from 16x on last year's models).

Most of Panasonic's updates with the HDC-SD60 took place under the hood. We're very excited to test the camcorder with its new 1/4.1-inch CMOS sensor and we should see some stronger results over last year's models. The HDC-SD20 (the predecessor model...

Panasonic HDC SD60

Great picture quality, plenty of features

Battery life could be better, its not bad just wish it lasted a little longer. (A better one is available as an additional extra), other than that, nothing!
