GoPro Hero3 White Edition

 

GoPro's Hero3 White Edition takes over as our favorite action camera in the $200 price range, thanks to its sharp video quality and low price.

Sharp 1080p video quality. Excellent value.

Some purple fringing in footage. Narrow field of view in 1080p setting.

Conclusion Overall, we recommend the GoPro Hero3 White Edition over the Kodak PixPro SP1, but it's by a hair. The narrow field of view and somewhat dull (yet accurate) colors may bother some, and if they would bother you, you should get the Kodak. But...

The Hero3 line of action cameras is now approximately half the size of the previous model and includes built-in Wi-Fi for all three models.

While it’s hard to believe these action cameras can get much smaller or more mobile, the compact Hero3 camera line is approximately half the size of the previous model and includes built-in Wi-Fi for all three editions.

Easy to use and easy to fix to various attachments. Quick and easy to set up. Light & easy to carry around. Good picture quality. Great for someone new to gadgets like this.

Battery life. I would have liked a view screen (not available on this model). I found loading images to a computer a bit confusing (but technology isn't my forte) but this probably wouldn't be too much of an issue for those used to handling computers &...
