JVC GR-D270 First Impressions Review - JVC MiniDV Camcorders

The GR-D270 is the middle camcorder of the three to be released within this line by JVC. It retails for US$449.95. Interestingly, this is one-hundred dollars less than the previous year's model, the JVC GR-D72. All of this camera's CCD specs are...

A Lightweight, in All the Wrong Ways

My faithful old Sony Hi8 camcorder bit the dust, so I decided to 'upgrade' to the digital MiniDV, happy that it weighed about half what the old camera did. Well, first off, don't assume (as I did, alas) that 'digital' is going to give you a better...

Lightweight, reasonably simple menus.

Bad colors in all light, awful image at night or indoors, truly abysmal still images.
