Panasonic PV-GS35

The PV-GS35 doesn't have much to recommend it besides a powerful zoom.

30X optical zoom. Tape can be removed from top of camera.

No mechanical image stabilization. Mediocre video quality. Autofocus could be better.

Image quality

Panasonic PV-GS35

Superb zoom reach; solid video quality; excellent battery life; simple controls.

Poor still quality; obscure icons for manual settings; odd shifting effect from image stabilization.

With its extreme zoom range and low price, the Panasonic PV-GS35 is an excellent choice when you can't get close to your subject.

Panasonic PV-GS35 First Impressions Review - Panasonic MiniDV Camcorders

The Panasonic PV-GS35 is the top of the line of this year's Panasonic one-chip camcorders. While maintaining the same body design and imager that the PV-GS31 and the PV-GS19 retained from last year's one-chip GSs, the PV-GS35 adds some features which...

Camcorder Review: Panasonic PV-GS35 Mini DV

This is a compact size camcorder that is big enough to handle easily, but small enough to accommodate an on-the-go lifestyle. It has enough features to keep shooters busy, too. One of the niftiest features on this camera is the joystick

S-Video Connector (out only) Mic Input Accurate Color

Jerky EIS at full zoom Limited input options Difficult manual operation

The biggest shortfall is the limited input options--the only way to input video onto the camcorder is through the FireWire jack. On the other hand, most users will find the zoom capabilities a worthwhile trade-off. Overall, we found it to be a great...

Panasonic PV-GS35

The PV-GS35 features the same 1/6 inch CCD with 680K pixels, as found on last year's PV-GS15. Panasonic hasn't made any changes to last year's imagers, and video performance has by and large remained the same. The main changes to this year's Panasonics...
