Disapointment

Be sure to have an internet ready system standing by for this put together

Good looking case, Simple nice design, Honestly the whole computer is fine and up to my standards excluding the Motherboard

The Motherboard is totally disappointing, I had to have this system go together flawlessly for work so that it would be ready to go right after the general put-together. THE INT-NIC is not going to run with the Drivers IN BOX. Do yourself a favor and...

great little computer

overall a great computer, great form function, great features, durable, easy to move around for lan partys etc. supriseingly easy to upgrade dispite its small size! and a great price!

its verry small yet has all the great features of a larger computer, pcie and pci expansion slots, regular sized power suply (verry handy for upgradeing), good use of space internally (the swing out section contains the power suply and the HDDs which...

the slideing door on the front feels a little clumsy, the button for the optical drive doesent have a whole lot of play to it sometimes wont reach the button on a drive (depends on the drive)

not bad.

in my experience the card reader and front panel USB get knocked out if you have any USB hub connected. front USB will supply power, but no communication. the RAID controller, which i didn't use, was normally not active. but it did act up for a few...

worked upon first power-on. pretty much trouble free

update bios if you want to run anything more than a 5000 ; front sliding panel design is pretty much useless--stays down all the time ; a bit noisy at times ; a few glitches i've run into--see below

3rd mini system. First from Asus. Not impressed.

I could live with it if the fans did not sound like a hair dryer. I've owned Soltek and Shuttle systems that were much better in all aspects. While there is nothing functionally wrong with the system, I'm not that happy with it.

Sleek design. 2 SATA drive bays to run RAID. Setup was quick and easy. The drive bays are on a hinge which makes maintenance easy

VERY noisy. Sliding panel on the front looks good in the photos but is not practical. Difficult if not impossible to see the hard disk activity light. Space restrictions on what video cards will go in it. Peformance is not what I expected

No more ASUS!

The other ASUS product that I've bought was a P5B-E MoBo. That MoBo is on the way back to me from Asus repair. For me, my family, my friends, co-workers, the company that I work for and anyone else that I can convince - NO MORE Asus anything!

Attractive Design - i.e. an absolute sub-standard product wrapped in a shiny shell

No LAN, No Audio at first start-up. Updating the BIOS to try to fix the problems resulted in a bricked barebone ; Have to send the unit to Asus for repair ; Rebate sent in 10/2007, check received 08/2008 ; 08/2008 LAN (NIC) no longer present, will try...

I'll never buy an asus barebones again...

I don't know what is wrong with this barebones system, but I am just going to shell out 300 bucks to just get a nice motherboard and case of my choice like I should have done in the first place. it's not a money saver at all, because you can get a...

small, cool sliding panel idea, looks good. the MB has everything I wanted

media card reader just locks the computer up and has never function, fan is ungodly loud, for some reason it's slower than my old PC with half the specs. can't upgrade the poser supply because it's smaller than a normal one. no room for harddrives

Incredible Case

One of the best cases I've had. I use it for my media center with a TV tuner installed. It's great, small form factor, but it still packs a punch

Tight squeeze when adding expansion cards, definitely no oversized cards will fit

I can't believe they sell this for money...

Most of these issues are known issues, acknowledged by ASUS... Some of them are 2 years old and still around. Others are months. People just keep finding new things wrong with them. Word to the wise DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! Just do a good search for...

Nice looking case. -Great Features. -Great Price. -Vid card was showing up with 512MB instead of 256MB (Not sure if this is a good thing though, all things considered. -Can be returned.

Where to start... Some of these will look familiar... Others I hadn't seen. -NIC doesn't work with included drivers. -VGA out is default with no way to change that I could find. -USB is wonky. Two different keyboards would randomly not work upon OS...
