OLD but did the job.

Built this up 5.5 years ago with old components I had left over for my son. It was old tech when I bought it. Well she is just too old now and is gtting retired next month. But served its purpose perfectly

Good but running too hot, con.

It turned out that the problem was caused by faulty DDR memory. Replaced memory with one 512 PC2100 stick. Computer is stable ever since. It still runs hot at 65C due to Radeon video card. When using built in video, system was 10C cooler.

Overheats, loud fan, weak psu

This case is too small, therefore everything runs really hot. My sempron 2200+ ran 52 C most of the time. The power supply is only 165w, and very weak. It gets very hot as well, and doesn't have a fan on it. The exhaust fan is very loud and I can...

Another Great ASUS Product

This was a good buy, and that's what I've come to expect from an ASUS product. No problems with heat. The fan doesn't seem noisy to me - some reviewers thought it was. The case is tad cramped, but this wasn't a serious problem. Like the other reviews -...

Good but running too hot

ASUS A7VT is a nice little computer for kids but power supply easily overheats. I have the computer for three weeks now and I can use it for over a half an hour at a time before it stops responding. Shutdown temperature is selected in BIOS. I am...

You can increase the airflow by replacing the ribbon cables with rounded ide cables. Works GOOD!!

you can improve airflow by switching the ribbon cable to a rounded ide cable for the hard drive, this makes a big difference on air flow in this case

Decent Barebones

I bought this to set up a (very) cheap system for work, and was impressed by the overall design and quality. ASUS has been a great company for motherboards, so I should have known to expect this to be the same. Like others have said, it is a bit...

Great buy!

Have now built 5 systems using this barebone. Excellent unit for SOHO use! Have used Sempros and Athlon XPs. Would suggest using an APG video card for all but a basic system, but the onboard video works fine. This is not a box for "tweakers"! For 90%...

Gotta read the Operator's Manual to figure out how to open it, kinda tight inside, but it is well-engineered and everything fits really good.
