Dell OptiPlex 9030 review

A sleek, simple and, unfortunately, unsurprising business all-in-one PC

Ultra-sleek design ; Air-tight security options ; Almost zero bloatware

Comparatively pricey ; Serious CPU issues ; Long boot times ; Sluggish performance

The OptiPlex 9030 is simply tough to recommend for the majority of businesses. As a less-than-powerful system with a bit of panache, this all-in-one PC is one machine best left on the shelf.

Dell OptiPlex 9030 Touch

With its easily accessible chassis and pivot-capable, 10-point touch screen, the Dell OptiPlex 9030 Touch is a solid all-in-one desktop that will help your business transition to Windows 8.1 Professional over the next few years.

10-point touch screen can pivot. HDMI-in and -out ports. Physical shutter on camera. IT serviceable.

Wired keyboard and mouse.

The Dell OptiPlex 9030 Touch is a good business desktop, with the touch screen that's becoming almost a necessity for using Windows 8.1 Professional. That said, the HP EliteOne 800 holds on to its Editors' Choice award for all-in-one business systems...

Dell OptiPlex 9030 review: A secure and businesslike 23-inch AIO desktop

Dell's latest top-end all-in-one desktop offers an excellent range of security options and can be configured to handle a variety of business workloads.

Compact, understated design ; Good CPU and memory performance ; Extensive security options ; Good selection of ports ; Built-in power supply ; Tool-free internal access ; Quiet in operation

Slow 5,400rpm hard drive ; Discrete GPU option not yet available ; Touchscreen option not yet available in the UK

Security — of both the physical devices and the data they house — is obviously vital for mobile computers, but it's also important for desktop PCs too. Dell's new OptiPlex 9030 takes security very seriously, offering a range of options that, if...

Expert Review

Bright, clear display can pivot between landscape and portrait modes, Decent sound, Plenty of connectivity options

Stand pivots and tilts but doesn't swivel, Mediocre mouse and keyboard, No discrete graphics

But Dell's OptiPlex line doesn't pretend to have the gaming aspirations that its Inspiron and XPS series, let alone its Alienware models, do—it's Dell's business brand, devoted to good-looking, strongly supported PCs for office productivity. And on...

Dell OptiPlex 9030 Touch Review and Ratings

A good option for small business environments where space is at a premium, the sleek and slim Dell OptiPlex 9030 Touch all-in-one offers solid functionality at a reasonable price.

Bright, clear display can pivot between landscape and portrait modes ; Decent sound ; Plenty of connectivity options

Stand pivots and tilts but doesn't swivel ; Mediocre mouse and keyboard ; No discrete graphics

The OptiPlex 9030 Touch is not a beast of a system, neither in size nor in performance. The lack of a discrete graphics option means would-be gamers had better look elsewhere (and be prepared to spend more, as for the
