Happy with the HPE-250F

I thought about a custom Dell, but after all the add-ons I found this to be a better deal. I also purchased an HP 2310 M twenty-three inch monitor which looks great and teams up well with the PC.

Good performance per dollar spent, although the price has increased by $200 since 8/26/10. Worked right out of the box

None so far

Good Deal

Great PC for the price, tho i bought it for $999 and i noticed the price went up. Never the less, its a good deal, the specs include everything you could want. Blu ray player is also a plus and comes with a decent wireless card. I am using it for games...

Alot of useless pre-installed programs. Haven't found any problems yet

Honest Opinion

Be sure to get a BA monitor for this PC, you'll thank yourself.

After weeks of searching and researching for a new computer, I weighed this PC's specs against other PCs. The price was $999 with free shipping when I bought it from Newegg so keep that in mind. This computer was definitely the best bang-for-buck...

I went into ownership with previous cons in mind and was prepared for the sub-par integrated wireless card. This made installing wireless adapter drivers and updating component drivers a hassle, but far from prohibitive. Other than that not a single...

sweeeet

Cant beat this hardware set for $999. Components alone on Newegg $1400. Whisper quiet, looks great. Much roomier than the neg reviews I saw, easy install for 2nd HD, chipset supports RAID and HP provides drivers, easy video card upgrade to ATI 5850 and...

Glowing HP logo on front is kind of a drag, but easy to yank the wires. Non-existent documentation so you need to download it all from HP.com

Good Value

I've only had it for a few days, but I'm pretty happy with it so far.

After a week or so of research, I had been looking at either getting a configurable HP or building my own. I had no idea HP made such high-end "quick ship" computers ; However, when I found this on sale at Newegg, it just seemed like a better deal....

The labeling on the audio hookups seems confusing. I'm not sure if it is incorrect, but plugging in my 5.1 system by color-coding didn't work (maybe I'm just ignorant on this). On the bright-side, the configuration program for the audio quickly cleared...

Great deal.

Not really a big pre-built fan, but this is the second HP I've bought in a row. They offer great bang for the buck. As long as you want the PC they want to sell you. You won't be changing much from the basic config.

Great upgrade from My 9550 Quad Core. Have had it about a week and a half and, so far, no major issues. Did have an issue with the PC not wanting to return from sleep mode and crashing, but HP Support took care of that promptly. I would recommend this...

Another weak PSU. HP is notorious for barely enough juice for their PC's. This my second HP and both are underpowered. Not much headroom for upgrading. But I was able to put a videocapture card into the rig and it runs stable. Still, I'd quickly...

Bargain Deal PC

make sure to have a HDMI cable and a Monitor with HDMI

One of the best mid-range high performance PC ; Very quiet even when i play Bad Company 2 or SC2 at max settings ; 999 is a great price if you don't know how to build a PC considering all the features in it(1TB, 8GB ram,BLU RAY,i7 Core, HD5770,...

The PSU is only 460w, so if you are going to upgrade, make sure that it doesn't exceed the current PSU or you might as well buy a more powerful PSU ; As long as you don't touch anything inside, it's all good

Great Desktop PC at a great price

I honestly think this is a steal at $999....maybe some of you can build one for less than that. But for the rest of us, this is a good option.

This is a very capable PC for just about everything. Sure it's not "Top of the Line" in any particular category but it'll do almost everything very well. Especially for someone like me, who doesn't really tinker with upgrades very often and certainly...

Large tower of course...video connection is pretty much hdmi only (but why would you use anything else??)

HP Pavilion Elite HPE-250F Intel Core i7 860(2.80GHz) 8GB DDR3 1TB ATI Radeon HD 5770 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Bloatware, and a lot of it. Most PC's come with bloatware nowadays. I was expecting it, so I did not factor it into my rating. I recommend Revo Uninstaller (free) to remove all of it. PC was shipped out and received in a timely manner. I will order...

This build has everything that I want in a PC, except for the wireless card (see Cons). I considered building my own PC and then I saw that this was on sale. The graphics card suits all my gaming needs at the moment (Starcraft 2 and Alien Swarm, both...

The wireless card is useless. It will go from a full 5 bar connection all the way down to 2 bars and it is always disconnecting. I tried reinstalling the device and updating the drivers, but that did not help. My laptop will get full bars and a great...

runs hot temp

I wish mainline PC manufacturers would invest $20 extra in better cooling inside the case of a $999+ PC

fast cpu, very quiet, big disk drive ; plug it in & go ; compact size for a desktop/tower

terrible cooling, whole box runs hot just playing WoW ; vent / grill of the video card is very hot to touch ; DVD drive has additional cover plate that opens, sounds clunky, feels clunky ; regret the purchase
