Lenovo 3000 J200

Quality components at good price.

Too many little trial pieces of software and up-daters that needed removing.

Bad investment

As a solo attorney, I don't have time for computer failures like this, especially after two (2) months use. Additionally, a "repair or replacement" warranty should not require the customer to restore the product to "as new" condition, using 8 disks and...

Nothing to say, here

Very disappointed with this product. When it arrived, in January, '08, the CD/DVD was loosely installed in the tower, which immediately instilled little confidence. The computer worked fine for two months, then the hard drive crashed, last week. I...

Great Cheap Desktop - Don't Use Vista

Make sure you've got a copy of XP or Linux (I can verify SuSE & Ubuntu work without any fiddling). Vista just doesn't perform on this - it eats up too much of the CPU, & the video card is too weak - even an extra 1gb memory doesn't help.

Cheap desktop suitable for word processing and web browsing. Fully linux compatible, no difficulties with installation. Relatively quiet during use, though the fans roar when you first turn it on. It also comes with decent keyboard and cheap mouse

Dog slow with Vista, even with an extra 1gb of memory. XP drivers for the soundcard and NIC are a royal PITA to track down since nothing indicates the model/type (they're buried deep on lenovo's site). Also no recovery discs of any kind (though there...

Good little PC

To the reviewer who was complaining about no vista disk... he should have ordered the combo package that included a clue. Almost no name-brand PC comes with the Vista CD. There is a built in factory restore on the hard drive and they give you the...

I've upgraded, streamlined and sold several of these. Work great. Not the fastest computer in the world but more then I would expect for the money

none

Good basic Vista desktop

Decent vista desktop. upgrade ram for starters and it will make a decent starter into vista desktop. Purchased it for grandmother for first pc and works without a hitch

little flimsy case, but will work for budget kids or first time pc

For the price, it's pretty good but........

Cheap, decent computer for basic use. Vista is SLOWWWWWWWW with just 512mb

Comes with Windows Vista installed, but no Vista disk. Newegg says it's not their fault, talk to Lenovo. Except Newegg seems to be having problems with not including software with things. (See Consumerist) usually their customer service is fine, but I...

lenovo 3000 J200(969084U) Celeron M 420(1.60GHz) 512MB DDR2 80GB Intel GMA 950 Windows Vista Home Basic

Not much, I bought the machine to connect to a HDTV monitor and to stream video from the internet so for me it is fine. If your going to keep Vista on the machine you'll need some more ram, corsair value 4200 ddr2 worked with no problems. I bought 2...

great price for a basic machine and with 2 gig of ram runs vista nicely. Runs videos and streaming videos fine also ; Plays DVD's and Audio CD's without lag. It would be great for Word Processing and Internet surfing. Shipping from Newegg was...

Has a bit to much bloatware. No backup disks of any kind so if the hard drive dies you cannot reinstall Vista. It does have software to backup the hard drive. The Hard Drive also has a partition which has a restore on it. Like I said if the hard drive...

Great bang for the buck

I installed SuSE Linux with the Gnome GUI, and this system runs perfectly. I primarily use it to connect to a remote embedded system, and routinely perform software builds on it. For the price, it is very hard to beat. I have a Lenove laptop also and...

Fast enough for SuSE Linux. Hard drive space is adequate. Comes with keyboard and mouse

No monitor, but that is to be expected at this price
