Lenovo does the IBM name proud with this budget small office orientated machine.

One aspect of Gigabyte motherboards is that pressing Ctrl+Shift+F1 opens up more menu options in the BIOS. If you specifically purchase an overclocking motherboard, having to do this is rather pointless. But for OEM solutions, I can finally understand...

Lenovo 3000 J115 desktop PC

The Lenovo 3000 J115 desktop PC comes only in a tower case with an appealing gray-green, flat plastic front panel that displays colourfully lit buttons; it reminded us of a kitchen appliance.

Lenovo's reliability marks - which are better than Dell's and HP's - should earn the Lenovo 3000 J115 desktop PC some buying consideration, and we did like the look of it. But the OptiPlex 740 has a better design by far. If you're partial to the Lenovo...

Lenovo Lenovo 3000 J115 7387 Tower w/Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2.2GHz Processo

The Lenovo 3000 J115 comes only in a tower case with an appealing gray-green, flat plastic front panel that displays colorfully lit buttons; it reminded me of a German kitchen appliance. If you want a desktop or ultracompact Lenovo system, you'll have...

Attractive case front ; Keyboard has useful quick-launch keys

Bare-bones, off-the-rack case ; Integrated graphics models are VGA-only

Targeted at the small-business market, this system lacks the toolless chassis features of Lenovo's ThinkCentre models.

Attractive case front, Keyboard has useful quick-launch keys

Bare-bones, off-the-rack case, Integrated graphics models are VGA-only

This minitower system has an attractive front panel, but the PC behind it has little of the innovative features found on other makers' systems.

Lenovo 3000 J115

The Lenovo 3000 J115 bridges the gap between a basic clerical desktop and the more corporate-oriented PCs.

Sub-$1,000 price with widescreen monitor. Lenovo Care tools (aka ThinkVantage utilities). Lots of included software. Decent expansion space. Dual-core AMD X2 processor. Windows Vista Premium-ready.

Some software is trialware and bloatware. No DVD burner. Only 90-day Norton Internet Security subscription. Could use a multimedia card reader.

Responding to "Decent I guess"

One reason computers tend to be bogged down with what most people agree are totally unnecessary startup program is because, in order to lower the price of the PC, the manufacturer gets compensated by, say, the antivirus company.

Decent I guess

It's amazing that in 2007 computers like this are still bogged down with unnecessary fluff programs at the startup. Having only 1 stick of 512 in single channel just compounds this. I replaced the memory with 2 sticks of 512 from Crucial and disabled...

Worked right out of the box. Very quiet

Dual-channel capable but only on stick of 512 is installed. Couple that with the fact that it's running Vista and Lenovo saw fit to have a boat load of bs in the startup then you have a very slow computer

Good machine, add vid and Ram

Tech support great: the old IBM support network.

1GB ram fills one slot, double the ram for little$. After adding vid card, system was very nice for the price. Lenovo will sell you an XP pro downgrade recovery cd set. Have 4 of these machines running on xp pro and 1 on vista. The vista is interesting...

Vista Home Premium, of course

Good box, unhappy w/ VISTA

Giving this former IBM box a "5" because non of the issues I've encountered had anything to do with hardware. Beware, if you use Adobe software, get ready for major issues with software compatibility.

Inexpensive, seems built well, plenty -o- features for the

VISTA. Incompatibility software and driver issues abound

Frustrated

Be careful when purchasing a full tower from here. I got it out of the box and started loading my office suite / etc (this was for a business) and the machine kept cutting off. I thought oh well, I will get an RMA and send it back and get another one....

not sure - inexpensive tower with plenty of power

It never worked
