MSI Hetis G41 Intel Core2 Quad / Core2 Duo / Celeron Intel Socket T(LGA775) Intel G41 Intel GMA X4500 Barebone

My experience with this style of MSI Compact goes back several models. I have purchased eight machines of this style, starting with the Hermes 845, Hetis 800, 915, and 965. All of these have proven to be reliable machines for me. The G41 feature set...

Cost ; Reliability ; Ease of Setup ; Quiet Operation ; Sturdy Construction ; Serial Ports - two of them, and they work ; Windows 7 x64 works straight out of the box (except RAID driver) ; Great for unobtrusive installs

BIOS triggers F1 Error on post if you don't have PS/2 Keyboard. There IS an option in the BIOS to skip F1 errors. The reviewer below either has an older BIOS rev or missed the option to bypass somehow ; Proprietary P/S - Had one P/S fail on an earlier...

Great little system

I'm very happy with this system. It was the smallest I could find with PCI slots, and this has two - a PCI and a PCIe. It went together fairly smoothly and now works great. Be aware that it comes with its own fan-based CPU cooler that replaces the...

Very small for a box with t PCI's ; Pretty quiet ; Good looking

A bit "fiddly" to get PCI boards installed (a reasonable tradeoff for the small size) ; Perf'ed top for the CPU cooler, so need to keep part of the top clear ; Poor manual (doesn't explain the PCI arrangement, unclear on some other things)

Good machine for Media center.

Small form factor, light weight, and great build with quality.

This is a great machine for a media center and also a a great build for parents that need just a basic PC

Died In 4 Days

775 quad 4 support, all connections on rear plus. Basicly all thats needed for a fairly decent machine in a small package. Even includes a very quiet cpu fan

It died in 4 days and was very slow with a quad 4 procesor

Nice But..

Using 500G SATA, Intel Core Duo E7500 2.93GHz, 4G G.Skill RAM, 32bit Win 7 Still not trusting 64bit Win yet, but that is no fault of this machine. I built 2 of these. One of the units DVI port may not work. I just moved on to using the VGA, so there...

Easy Assembly, lots of room and access for a small size. Clean setup of Win7 Pro. I was a little surprised by the support bracket release. I thought it had something to do with opening the case since it was on the outside. The manual was pretty clear...

Big negative for me, a nit for others. If you get a decent USB keyboard as I did, it is annoying to have to hit F1 when you boot up to get past "PS/2 keyboard not found". There is no setting to disable this in the bios ; As others have stated the...

Smart Case, Warning for PVRs

If you're trying to build a PVR, I recommend buying a tv tuner/graphics card combo or a PCI tv tuner. Or, look elsewhere for a case with a different motherboard. I purchased a CPU with a heatsink/fan which was silly, because now I have 2 fans. There's...

Efficiently designed, quiet case. Screw in CPU fan wasn't that hard to put in, and comes with a patch of thermal paste pre-applied. Comes with power cable and SATA cables. Case can be setup vertically with a base

No ATA. I should have read the previous reviews before buying. Also, when I added a PCIe tv tuner card, the onboard DVI stops working. I RMA'd my first case, and the behavior was reproducible on the replacement. I have confirmed with MSI that this is...

Good System for the Money

Been building & configuring my PC systems since 1986. I bought it for the small form factor & ps/2 connections. Good system for the money spent, but it's not going to satisfy hard core gamers or power users.

Nice system, easy to set up and quiet in operation. Preforms well. comes with motherboard extender riser and two open slots - one for a PCI-E vidio card and another for a standard PCI card. Onboard vidio and audio works fine. Had a spare SATA 300 GB...

Specs are incorect. No ATA header only two SATA drives supported. Wasted money on the ATA drive I bought for it. Center silver support rib shows brightly thru the corner of the black case's cpu grill ( darkened it with a black marker ). Can't use the...

Great Mac Server

a 7500 C2D, 4 Gigs RAM, 1.5 TB HD with a backup twin on the eSATA port. Just sits in the corner and saturates its GigEthernet connection.

Up and running with minimal fuss. Snow Leopard Server runs rock solid on this box after very little configing. Comes with a custom heatsink that better cools the chip and is designed to intergrate with the case. Compact and solid

The front panel is a bit flimsy. The silver strip on ours was not well attached
