Canon PowerShot A2300 review

When it comes to entry-level point-and-shoots, Canon's A-series PowerShots consistently excel in picture quality. That certainly holds true for the 16-megapixel A2400 IS and A2300.

The Canon PowerShot A2400 IS and PowerShot A2300 have very good picture quality for their class and are loaded with effects and filters.

The cameras' flat buttons and cramped layout may make use difficult for some and shooting performance is slow, particularly shot-to-shot. The lenses require a lot of light or high ISOs when zoomed in. Battery life is short.

The entry-level Canon PowerShot A2400 IS and its IS-less linemate the A2300 are simple cameras with nice picture quality for casual snapshooters, but the price difference isn't worth sacrificing the image stabilization.

Canon PowerShot A2300 Digital Camera Review

The Canon PowerShot A2300 is a digital compact with 5x optical zoom and 16 megapixel sensor, Daniel Bell gives us his verdict.

Built-in help guide; Available in a good range of colours; Good creative modes; Images have really good colour reproduction; Easy to use

Image detail isn't sufficient for large prints

Canon PowerShot A2300

The PowerShot A2300 is a compact point-and-shoot camera that is capable of some sharp images, but its value is questionable as Canon markets an identical camera with image stabilization for just $10 more.

Inexpensive. Compact. Sharp lens. Fairly speedy.

Poor high ISO performance. Lacks image stabilization. Limited video support.

Performance and Conclusions When you consider its price, the speed that the A2300 delivers is really quite impressive. It can start up and grab a shot in 2.1 seconds, rattles off a photo every 1.4 seconds in continuous drive mode, and has a short 0.2...

Canon PowerShot A2300 Preview

The Canon PowerShot A2300 is one of six all new A-series cameras recently announced by Canon. It is virtually interchangeable with the A2400 IS, which costs $10 more, but as the name implies, the A2300 does not include optical image stabilization....

Canon PowerShot A2300

The Canon PowerShot A2300 is the 'house red' of Canon's 2012 PowerShot line up. A notch up from the low end AA-powered budget PowerShots the A810 and A1300, it's a basic point-and-shoot compact with some refinements designed to make it more...

5x optical zoom., Small and slim, light and sleek., 16 Megapixel Sensor., Dedicated help button

No optical image stabilisation., Digital IS is not full resolution., No optical zoom while in movie mode., Poor High ISO noise performance

Canon PowerShot A2300

Used to get a lot of blurred photos with our old camera but the image stabilisation on the A2300 gives us clear pics every time. Very easy to use.

no AV cable connection other than usb port so cannot connect up to some of the older flat screen tvs that dont have a usb port.
