Canon PowerShot S410

Solid, compact body; low-shutter-lag Quick Shot mode; excellent image quality.

Few manual controls and no scene modes; slow autofocus in dim light; small viewfinder; no 640x480 video capture.

This 4-megapixel Canon PowerShot S410 pocket camera offers few manual controls or special features but delivers solid image quality and performance.

Solid, compact body ; Low-shutter-lag ; Quick Shot mode ; Excellent image quality

Few manual controls and no scene modes ; Slow autofocus in dim light ; Small viewfinder ; No 640x480 video capture

At lower ISO settings, our test images were clean and virtually noise-free; although noise inevitably increases at ISO 200 and ISO 400, it's not noticeable enough to mar your photos unless you make very large prints. The Canon IXUS 430 provides...

Canon Powershot S410 Digital ELPH Digital Camera Review

The Canon Powershot S410 Digital ELPH is the second from the top in Canon's "S" line, under the S500.

Excellent build quality ; Compact, solid camera ; Excellent image quality ; Battery life

Smaller LCD ; A bit sluggish compared to some newer cameras ; No scene modes

In the box, you will find the camera, documentation, a 32 MB Compact Flash, the NB-1LH battery, the A/V cable to connect to your computer or a TV, the battery charger and software

Expert Review

Someof the most popular digital cameras in recent years have said "DigitalELPH" on the body. And I can understand their success --after all, they're small and stylish, and they take great picturesto boot.

Very good photo quality, Small, beautiful metal body, Very fast performance, Good burst modes (esp. the S500), AF-assist lamp, VGA movie mode (S500 only), although limited compared to competition, Excellent bundle, Optional underwater case

Redeye, Flimsy plastic doors over battery/memory card compartments, Sluggish frame rates, recording time limits in movie mode, Scene modes would be nice
