Canon PowerShot S60

The PowerShot S60 is undoubtedly a powerful camera at a good price, with a particularly good lens. However, it suffers from modest but annoying colour fringing and a nasty plastic construction. With simultaneous RAW and JPEG saving, it

Canon USA Powershot S60 Digital Camera Camera

If your number one priority for a digital camera is that it doesn't pull your shirt pocket down to belly button level, you'll want to skip the Canon PowerShot S60. Though it has the typical oblong shape of a point-and-shoot and weighs less than its...

Though the updates found in the S60 make it a significantly better camera than the S50, they don't constitute a dramatic improvement. That may come with Canon's 7-megapixel version, the PowerShot S70, which is due in late August

Canon PowerShot S60

Canon are keen to point out that the S60 has a lens which utilizes 'UA lens technology'. This has lens elements which have 'ultra high refraction index glass' which allows the entire lens system to be thinner (yet maintaining the same image quality).

Good resolution (one of the best five megapixel) ; Good metering, nice tonal balance (more shadow detail), vivid color ; Mature image processing, few artifacts, low moire, good detail ; Wide angle zoom (28 - 100 mm equiv.) ; Control over camera's...

Some purple fringing visible at wide angle or maximum apertures ; Lens slow at telephoto (F5.3) ; Auto focus speed and shutter release lag no better than S50 ; Some under-exposure with flash, although can be compensated ; No anti-reflective coating on...

What we have here ladies and gentlemen is a compact G5, it may be missing the flip-out and twist LCD monitor but it does have a 3.6x wide angle zoom lens (albiet slower than the G5's impressive F2.0 - F3.0). I'm also glad to see that Canon realized the...
