FujiFilm FinePix V10 Zoom review

Style over substance?

Decent dynamic range ; Fast and responsive ; Exposure is reliable and consistent

Clunky menu navigation

The V10 is undoubtedly a beautiful camera and there's plenty to praise, but it is also frustrating for those looking for more control

Fuji FinePix V10 digital camera

Fuji was once all about its Super CCD technology, resolution juggling, and hexagonal pixels. Now the emphasis is changing as the end users (that's you and me) realise the chase for ever higher resolution is not what it's all about. The FinePix V10...

Great build and compact, lightweight design combined with fast operation, great image quality providing plenty of detail. Superb 230,000-pixel 3-inch LCD screen and simple to use

Very basic manual control, controls compromised to allow for game playability, large LCD needs an anti reflective coating to make it, well, nigh on perfect

The FinePix V10 offers a stylish and well-made compact digital camera to the masses with superb noise control and even better image quality.

Fujifilm FinePix V10

This powerful 5MP camera with 3.4 to 1 optical zoom is small enough to fit into the smallest pocket but has one of the biggest TFT displays I have seen.

The TFT display literally fills the whole back of the unit. The dimensions are 8.5x6.5x2.5cm and it weights around 150grams. The TFT display is 6x4.5cm and in a line along the bottom of the display are seven buttons that control the unit.

Fuji Finepix V10

The Fuji Finepix V10 is the only digital camera I have reviewed that offers arcade style games. So if you get bored with taking photographs or if the rain is falling perhaps you can switch the camera into games mode and pass the time.

Large LCD screen ; Quality of photos at high ISO settings

Small memory card supplied

"The Fuji Finepix V10 is a small, compact digital camera. Picture quality on the whole is good. It has a very large three inch LCD screen and is likely to appeal to someone who is looking for a camera for snapshots. It also includes a small selection...

FinePix V10 Zoom

The most eye-catching feature of the Fujifilm FinePix V10 Zoom is its big LCD. The three-inch screen almost fills the back of the camera. It's handy for framing shots and makes viewing images a pleasure.

Large LCD screen. High ISO rating for great performance in low-light conditions.

Few manual controls. Noisy photos at ISO 1600. Images not sharp enough.

In our tests, the V10's image quality was average. Most impressive was the V10's exposure accuracy, but its images were less sharp than most point-&-shoots. The novelty of the huge screen will please the consumer market, but there's not much else to...

Fuji FinePix V10

Megapixels: 5.1, Included Memory Amount: 16 MB, Included Memory: Media Card, Media Format: xD-Picture Card, Maximum...

Very good picture quality. Large 3-inch screen. Low-light setting. In-camera cropping. Plays games. No shutter lag.

Screen smudges easily.Relatively low resolution. Few screen modes. Camera buttons are designed for small fingers. Some in-camera features lack dedicated buttons.

The Fuji FinePix V10 is a good camera to kick off the V series. It takes very good photos, offers useful shooting features, and includes four games for curing those traveling blues.
