The first camera with an APS-C BSI sensor makes an impressive debut
Super-fast burst shooting ; Excellent image quality for APS-C ; Wealth of features
Some of its buttons are too small ; Minor processing issues
The tilt display is great when you want to shoot above or below head height, while the fairly good touch implementation can be great when you do just want to take your photography more casually. You can touch-to-focus and touch-to-shoot, and also use...

It's not just the spec that impresses, the image quality is excellent as well
High pixel count and good detail resolution ; Excellent AF system ; 15fps continuous shooting
Missing a few customisation options ; Baseball Mode is rather gimmicky ; Manual Focus Assist needs to work off centre
The Samsung NX1 is an excellent camera. It feels great in the hand, is weatherproof, provides plenty of control, is enjoyable to use and produces superb quality images.

Flagship compact system camera challenges DSLRs via 28 megapixel photos and 4K video
Eye-level viewfinder ; Lightweight yet sturdy feel ; Fast and accurate response
Premium asking price ; Less lenses are available ; Bulky alternative to a DSLR

Samsung has been making dSLR-style mirrorless interchangeable-lens models for years, but like many competitors they've suffered from performance issues. The company finally steps up its game with the NX1, a high-performance, high-quality camera that...
The Samsung NX1 is fast, well-designed, weather resistant and feature-packed, and it produces great photos and videos.
There's no charger included, and USB charging takes longer than we'd like. Plus, it could use tracking autofocus when you're shooting via the viewfinder.
Fast, sturdy, well-designed and with excellent photo quality, the Samsung NX1 hits all the bases for action-shooting enthusiasts.

Read our full review of the new Samsung NX1, with a 28.2 megapixel APS-C sensor, 4K video and 15fps continuous shooting.
28 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor ; 3inch AMOLED touch-screen ; High resolution electronic viewfinder ; 15fps continuous shooting with C-AF ; Top LCD display ; 4K video recording ; H.265 / HEVC video compression ; Improved noise performance over the NX30 ;...
Size - larger than most mirrorless cameras ; Would be nice to have alternative video compression options
The Samsung NX1 is currently the highest resolution APS-C camera available offering a 28.2 megapixel sensor, and in order to give good noise performance, the camera is the World's first to feature a backlit APS-C CMOS sensor, instead of a standard CMOS...

Samsung has been pretty inventive in the digital camera world. It was the first to offer an really extensive Wi-Fi system (which continues to this day), Android-based cameras (though Nikon launched a model at about the same time), and arguably the...

It's not uncommon for us to review a camera whose intent is to challenge an existing market leader. Samsung seems to have taken this tactic to the extreme with the NX1, not with the intent of challenging a market leader, but with the intent of...
