A retro design and a rethought mode dial widens the appeal of Nikon's J-series CSC

Touch sensitive screen ; Tilting screen ; Inbuilt Wi-Fi and NFC

4K recording only at 15fps ; Slow shot to shot speeds ; No viewfinder

The Nikon 1 J5's sensor is smaller than those in most other CSCs, but it's stylish and practical and small enough to compete with regular compact cameras, not just other CSCs.

If you're not a serious shutterbug, you'll appreciate the ease of using the fast-shooting Nikon 1 J5 mirrorless camera.

Incredibly fast focus and 60fps burst shooting. Tilting touch-screen LCD. Built-in flash. Quite compact. 1/16,000-second electronic shutter. Includes compact zoom lens. Built-in Wi-Fi.

Some autofocus inconsistency. Small sensor limits depth of field control. No EVF option. 4K video limited to 15fps. No mic input. Slow 1/60-second flash sync. Omits mechanical shutter. Lens shows heavy distortion when shooting Raw.
