Blending together the best of both worlds, this full-framer is what we've been waiting for from Panasonic
Great handling ; Fantastic video specs ; Fully articulating touch-sensitive screen
Advanced video users will miss the full-sized HDMI port ; Compatible lenses are large compared to the body
Panasonic has faced a lot of criticism with its S series of full-frame cameras - they haven’t been as warmly received as its smaller-format G series. By listening to that feedback and essentially melding together the two lines, the S5 very much feels...

If you're looking for a small-scale full-frame camera that's also a video capture ace then there's nothing to outclass the S5 at this price point.
Compact for a full-frame camera ; Great design and build ; Relatively affordable for its spec and performance ; Reliable autofocus/people tracking ; Charges via USB-C ; Two SD card slots
4K60p crops down to APS-C ; Focus selector button could be easier to adjust ; Only one of the SD card slots is UHS-II
This well-made and compact full-frame camera doesn't cost a whole lot more than the Micro Four Thirds video champ: the GH5. And it's cheaper than its larger-scale full-frame sibling: the Lumix S1. So, whichever way you look at it, the Lumix S5 is...

The Panasonic Lumix S5 is a compact, full-frame mirrorless camera in the L-mount range, joining the manufacturer's S1, S1R, and S1H models. It has a 24Mp sensor, built-in image stabilisation, 4K video recording and a tilting screen. But does it take...

The Lumix S5 is Panasonic's answer to Canon's EOS R6 and is the best video-centric camera in its price range. It's smaller and costs less than the Lumix S1, but it actually delivers better video features. That includes a flip-out display, five-axis...
4K 10-bit video ; 5-axis stabilization ; Flip-out display ; Compact size ; Faster autofocus
Poor contrast-detect autofocus ; Poor electronic viewfinder ; Slow photo burst speeds
Canon’s $2,500 EOS R6 has higher internal data rates and superior Dual Pixel phase-detect autofocus, plus it’s better for still photography. However, the S5 is $500 cheaper and should suffer less from overheating issues that can cripple video recording...

The Lumix S5 is Panasonic's true answer to the Sony A7 III and Nikon Z 6. There's still room for improvement, but it scores big wins in design and video.
Excellent design, build quality ; Improved face/eye autofocus ; 96MP high-resolution mode ; Unlimited 4K/30 recording ; 30-minute 4K/60
Low-resolution EVF ; Autofocus lags behind competition ; Slow continuous shooting

The Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 is the company's most portable full-frame stills/video hybrid camera. Read our in-depth review to see how it stacks up against the competition.

The Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 is a slimmer, more affordable full-frame camera, with loads of appeal for photographers shopping for an entry-level or midrange model.

The Panasonic S5 is a brand new hybrid full-frame mirrorless camera that's equally as capable at shooting both stills and video. In an ever more crowded market, does the Lumix S5 offer enough to stand out against the likes of the Sony A7 III, Canon EOS...

For those interested in a Panasonic mirrorless camera, the company now offers two different model lines to choose from, Micro Four Thirds or Full-frame. As one of the Micro Four Thirds platform co-creators, their offerings here are wide-ranging, while...
