Samsung i8

Cameras that combine other functions are seldom any good. Can the Samsung i8 beat the odds?

At first glance the i8 doesn't look like anything terribly special. It has a fairly unassuming shape, a plain rectangular slab with rounded corners, with the lens mounted in the upper right corner of the front face. The body is made of plastic and...

Samsung i8510 Innov8 Review

Having not properly reviewed the Nokia N96 just yet, I don't want to speak too soon and say the Samsung i8510 definitely wins out, but what I can say is this is Samsung's best phone yet.

Samsung - i8

It's natural to be a little dubious of a digital camera when you hear that it doubles up as a portable multimedia player. After all, most people would agree that if a job's worth doing, it's ...

The Samsung i8 neatly packs an excellent quality camera and MP3 and video media player into a stylish body. Although the i8 is comprised of plastic it feels solid and elegant. As well as excellent picture quality, the multimedia features on the Samsung...

Samsung i8

A digital compact with multimedia playback and a travel guide. (No kitchen sink, however.)

Sharp images, good noise performance, media functionality may be useful to some

Poor audio quality, sluggish performance at times, colour balance a little off, attracts fingerprints very easily

While Samsung's i8 is a fairly decent digital camera, its media functionality could use a little improvement (particularly in terms of audio quality).

Samsung i8

Samsung has a tendency to offer easy point-and-shoot features in an ultra-compact form factor, and the i8 is a good example. At the same time, it's not really the performance that might get you interested in this camera, but rather the multimedia...

The i8 costs Rs 13,990, which isn't exactly cheap. It's feature-rich, especially when it comes to multimedia, but I'm not too impressed since it's not quite adept at doing what it's primarily meant to do.

Samsung i8

Aimed at amateurs, the Samsung i8 is a user-friendly digital camera with strong multimedia functionality and helpful how-to guides. Slow performance and the sometimes frustrating logic of the main menu will mean this is probably one to skip unless...

A raft of included multimedia features ; Easy to navigate menu ; Dynamic range of shooting options such as self-portrait mode and face detection

Occasional loss of logic in the menu structure ; No dedicated "back" button ; Slow shooting times ; Changeable light condition of the LCD

The i8 is a solid starter-kit camera which boosts its personality with a number of novelties. Some are truly useful and others are not. As a converged device, you can expect to get good audio-visual quality in the MP3 and video playback modes, and the...

Samsung i8 Digital Camera Review

Upon first holding the Samsung i8, two main things struck me: the distinctive color (I reviewed the white unit but the i8 is also available in black, baby blue or pale pink) and its weight or, should I say, lack thereof. Without doubt, the Samsung i8...

But do not mistake the slight weight to be an indication of the capabilities of the i8 because this 8.2 mega pixel unit is packed full of both standard and unique features that bring a delightful new edge to the compact camera market
