Samsung ST50 review

Samsung's ST50 fits a lot of megapixels into not a lot of space

Attractive, solid build ; Excellent images ; Good ease of use

Buttons are a little fiddly

This is a great camera, and the only shortcoming are down to its tiny size

Samsung ST50 digital camera

The Samsung ST50 has a slick brushed aluminium front and a good solid feel with neat precise lines. It is perfectly pocketable, measuring 94.2 x 55.7 x 16.6mm; small, but perfectly formed, you could say. It features a 3x zoom lens, 35-105mm (35mm...

Battery charging in-camera, Frame Guide mode, easy to use, good build quality

Smart mode not brilliant, on HD video capture

So it is something of a mixed bag. The single connection, while giving you a neat in-camera charging option, does mean that you need bespoke cables to use the camera wherever you go. The lack of HD video is an obvious set back for those with a large...

Samsung ST50

Samsung's compact digital ST50 is a great point and shoot device offering solid auto functions and is sleek with brushed stainless steel exterior.

We must say that browsing images was a bit slow at times, but liked the clever motion timer though, which signaled the camera to take a picture only when no more movement was detected. The ST50 is a fun camera typically meant for photography on the go....

We find out if this attractive compact comes with any bite

Samsung - ST50

If ever there's a market that feels as though it's close to saturation, it has to be the one for compact digital cameras. As most of them have roughly the length and width of a credit ...

Attractive, slim and sturdily constructed on the outside, the ST50 is nevertheless something of a mixed blessing, with above average video capability and some clever image effects, yet the finished images lack quality and the Auto Smart mode is not as...

Samsung ST50

Apart from the camera being very small and fitting very neatly in small pockets, the camera has a very annoying focal range where the subject has to be 80cm away from the camera in normal mode, meaning you're always having to switch to macro mode so...

Samsung ST50

Attractive, well-built, crisp LCD, easy to operate

Mediocre picture quality, smart picture mode sometimes chooses questionable settings

The Samsung ST50 is a very good looking digital camera and the pictures it takes are clean, but photos are sometimes soft when taken at higher zoom levels, and snaps are under-saturated.
